  1. This is absolutely correct and it will be two of them. For the immediate time being, Arcia comes back up and Rosario goes back down. That is obvious. It looks like the Twins like Vargas the most? I like all three players, bu there is no way to have more than one as a DH unless they are going to be serious about Pinto catching. I am more than OK with having potential starters fill out the bench, so maybe only one of them goes, but one of them must go. I am not sure who brings the most value back.
  2. Also, both Burdi and Reed are starting to chill out as well. They might be dominant the rest of the season now.
  3. Things: Interesting that Achter is closing for Rochester instead of Oliveros. Oliveros to the Twins and Jones to Rochester and Peterson to Chattanooga and Booser to Fort Myers is clear. This is minimally what needs to happen, and it doesn't matter if it is Stauffer or Boyer who goes, in my view. Stauffer just makes the money . . . unfortunately. Pinto should be up too. I am not sure they want to send Herrmann away for that, right now, but I will say that Jordan Schafer must go anyway. Rosario will be back to AAA, rightfully, when Arcia comes back. Two more months might be it for Eddie at AAA! I probably make almost all of the promotions Seth lists here, though Beresford would need a trade of somebody barring an injury (by the way, I swear . . . can anyway clarify the quality of SS arms in the system??). EST is pretty loaded with guys who can fill in with no problem for CDR.
  4. Yikes, I hope everything is ok.
  5. I would rank them (for NBA purposes): 1. Winslow 2. Towns 3. Russell 4. Okafor (though Okafor could be 1 or 2 IF whoever drafts in that spot needs that exact kind of guy . . . maybe the Knicks do, actually). Kevin Martin has got to be gone, right? Rubio is an absolute joke. The horrific T-Wolves PG situation only continues year after year.
  6. I like Simmons as much as anyone discussing sport today. He was can be very self-deprecating at times and Jalen makes fun of him somewhat regularly.
  7. Shane Robinson is Ben Revere lite at the plate. He is Ben Revere plus in the field simply because of routes and his arm. He is Ben Revere lite lite on the basepaths. Correction. But overall, still Ben Revere lite.
  8. Haha, I didn't give your article a re-read to check, but do you find yourself wishing often that you would have written some of the stuff in the original article instead of in subsequent posts!? Probably a time-saver . The last point is pretty important. And it makes me think that the Twins care less about his "head" than many Twins fans do.
  9. For Robinson lovers, keep in mind that he is coming down to earth and is what he always has been--Ben Revere lite. I don't want that around in 2016, at all. And Schafer should already be gone.
  10. I am not going to sift through this all after my initial post. I do think that those concerned about Hicks' long-term role might want to consider the possibility that it is Oswaldo Arcia who will be traded (along with either Vargas or Pinto) by Aug. 1 2016 at the latest. Rosario-Buxton-Hicks could be sick defensively if the offensive production is there. Kepler, Walker, Harrison, and Ortiz add potential OF depth (with 1B too, in the case of Kepler for certain, and maybe Walker and Harrison eventually).
  11. Don't even get me started about GBA . . .
  12. Don't hate me for this: I don't think the national anthem should be played at sporting events.
  13. More details on velocity and whatnot would inform us more before making any kind of decision. I think it could be a total disaster to move him to the bullpen right now. That could have been something he was made to prepare for in spring, but it wasn't. To do it now might cause problems. Keep him starting in AAA unless he is hurt again.
  14. There's always the 7-day DL. And there probably are a few guys at AA and AAA who could be released. This was the first time Greg Peavey wasn't terrible in a start, for instance.
  15. Still a great story. It does make you wonder how many more can be found in the indy leagues.
  16. Taylor Rogers DOB: 12-17-90 in Littleton, Colorado Height: 6'3" Weight: 180 Position: SP Bats: Left Throws: Left Acquired: Drafted by Twins in 11th round of 2012 draft out of University of Kentucky 2014 statistics (NBR): 145 IP, 3.29 ERA, 7.0 K/9, 2.3 BB/9 (113/37), 1.290 WHIP 2015 statistics (ROC): 38 IP, 2.84 ERA, 7.8 K/9, 3.6 BB/9 (33/15), 1.289 WHIP Rogers was a pitcher that I was skeptical of after his 2013 season when his strikeouts declined in Fort Myers and his velocity was still just around 90 mph. Ever since he has been striking out a good rate of batters (not his pre 2013 numbers, but still good) and his velocity has climbed to 93-95 with the fastball. He looks to be a promising starter if that is the direction the Twins go with him. He also could be a dominant lefty setup man down the road. 2015 prediction: Rogers might get a call up to the Twins this year. He isn't on the 40 man yet, but that really isn't an issue for September this year. I think he will continue to be very good: 180 IP, 3.05 ERA, 7.4 K/9, 3.2 BB/9, 1.270 WHIP
  17. It took him just a few games to seem at home at the top of that lineup too.
  18. Because it is a crime against this organization and him, I am adding Taylor Rogers right now.
  19. No one is trading for Ricky Nolasco until at least 2016. There is no way it is happening, so all speculation about him must end! Santana, Meyer, Stewart, and Minier (huge potential upside is possible here) might work.
  20. In the last week: 18 PA, .294/.278/.588 (.866), one double, two triples, no walks, and three strikeouts. He had 13 walks all of last year and has six already this year. He is improving on his 2014 AAA numbers overall. With Torii Hunter, Shane Robinson, and Jordan Schafer up with the Twins, Ortiz looks more and more like a trade throw-in to pair with someone like Escobar or Fien come the end of July. A guy like Ortiz just offers some prospect status back to teams looking to ship away a better prospect for a veteran. Of course, if the Twins decide to cut ties with Aaron Hicks or Oswaldo Arcia via trade, there might be an opening for Ortiz.
  21. In the last week: 20 PA, .250/.250/.500, two doubles, one homer, no walks, and seven strikeouts. .814 OPS overall. He has six homers and 36 strikeouts!
  22. I think it is just tempered expectations because there have been no success stories out of the system for awhile other than Dozier, Plouffe, and Gibson, and the second one took quite awhile, the third one is getting pretty lucky this year, and Dozier was a bit fluky.
  23. While Buxton is a totally rare talent and I like some soft pushing up through the minors, I do think that a modicum of caution is warranted to make sure that he isn't over his head completely at the plate initially. That is mostly going to have to due with the breaking ball, so I personally would like him moved to AAA pretty quickly just to see the different pitches that those kind of pitchers throw. And as far as defense goes, Aaron Hicks was "major league ready" defensively since 2011 or 2012. Well, something is wrong there. I don't want something weird to be the case with Buxton too (about route-taking, I guess).
  24. Cameron Booser DOB: 5-4-92 in Seattle, Washington Height: 6'3" Weight: 225 Position: RP Bats: Left Throws: Left Acquired: Signed by Twins as non-drafted free agent on August 12, 2013 2014 statistics (ELZ): 31.1 IP, 2.01 ERA, 12.1 K/9, 4 BB/9 (42/14), 1.340 WHIP 2015 statistics (CDR): 13 IP, 0.69 ERA, 15.92 K/9, 4.15 BB/9, (23/6), 0.92 WHIP Booser is dominating A ball in the early going right now. He throws around 95 mph. He had TJ surgery back in college in 2011 and had another surgery this past offseason to clean up the elbow. If healthy, he could be a lights-out reliever in the future. 2015 prediction: Booser looks destined to move to Fort Myers after some of the other bullpen movement at the higher level occurs. 50 IP, 1.80 ERA, 11 K/9, 4 BB/9 and 1.10 WHIP
