  1. That's true. Certainly he will do just that and this is just a mere fill-in for Plouffe and Ramirez.
  2. Or they could just be a little more fast and loose with promotions and not have to sign two OFers for New Britain (maybe not even one!). It would almost have to be Williams to FM because they are likely waiting on Buxton until after the all-star game. If Kepler is back, that would be certainly quite exciting.
  3. Oh, let it be clear that I don't really endorse Colabello going down in the first place. I don't think that the Twins really want to do that just for fun, so since it really is not Wilkin, it must be either to provide real CF depth or to bring back Arcia. Now given service time and given that Wilkin was the backup (though Herrmann is likely just as capable as he is), I bet that it is indeed Thomas. I understand that he has gotten a lot better as a AAA hitter this year. Still, though.
  4. Yeah, being down on Angel is understandable, but people forget the injuries and the fact that he is still young. He was a top 8ish prospect three years ago. The Twins have a LOT that can be shed from the 40-man roster after the season.
  5. I would like a rotation involving Arcia, Doumit, Willingham, Parmelee (and Morneau and Mauer to a lesser degree). I certainly hope that they don't risk losing Colabello when they have plenty of expendable players from the 40-man who will NOT BE taken or it won't matter if they are taken. No one is touching Butera. No one is touching Hermsen. Personally, I want nothing to do with Clete Thomas, and would much rather just call up Richardson.
  6. One more to go. George Michael's episode is totally stellar. Buster's is great too.
  7. Given the way Morneau is hitting, why don't they put him in the 2-spot? That was a joke before I typed it. Now maybe it is a legitimate question.
  8. Where has this conversation even gone? Some facts seem to be in need of expression: Waiving Joe Benson was a mistake. Drew Butera was once a premium defensive catcher and is no longer a premium defensive catcher. He certainly was a better option to simply remove from the 40-man roster. That is obvious.
  9. Benson 1-for-1 so far tonight. And YES, I am going to keep doing this for while.
  10. There is no reason to play Colabello at third except in some bizarre emergency situation. Let it be noted that my pre-April 25 man roster called for both Herrmann and Colabello on the roster.
  11. I think Baxendale is more likely than Rogers.
  12. I missed Randy Rosario, Lo, and Jorge myself. And Romero. I am not sure what to think about him at the moment. I guess I wouldn't mind trading Plouffe away for 200-300 prospect talent in order to give him a chance at third for the moment.
  13. Haha, good call. It is clear that Gardy is obsessed with the Platonic Form of the no. 2 hitter.
  14. It is clear that Butera is a good defensive catcher. So is Mauer, right now. That he is currently a "premium" defensive catcher is certainly up for debate. The numbers don't show that. At all.
  15. Sad story. I hope it turns out better than how it sounds.
  16. If some more people want to constuct such a list, I will compile them into a "super list" for TD.
  17. Lineup construction is not nonsense. It means a few games a year if you do it right. If you don't think a few games matter, you are insane.
  18. So two guys in front of him who can't get on base is better?
  19. Hicks always starts slowly. I predict his June is going to be ridiculously good.
  20. Hicks is guaranteed and they probably like Dozier's defense enough to keep him around. If Plouffe can just stay healthy, that would help him. Parmelee was messed with and now is in trouble.
  21. Alex Wimmers, Randy Rosario, Kuo-hua Lo, and Felix Jorge are notable people off this list. I need to see how they do this year to put them somewhere. I have no idea what to do with Wimmers, in particular.
  22. He needs to be promoted pronto to AA and there is NO REASON not to do so. Let him see AA pitching for the rest of the season. If this were Shane's org. AA and AAA would be loaded as hell by this time next year.
  23. Kepler is likely starting after the short season starts and thus after the draft. Cedar Rapids is his place and I would expect J.D. Williams to move to Fort Myers at that time.
  24. May has control issues, yes. I am not going to worry about those for the time being. He is chilling the long ball right now and I view that as an underrated thing. Anyway, I do not see May as a bullpen option at the moment, but I also see another full year minimum between AA and AAA. I think that he and Meyer arrive at the same point late next year. And I am fine with that.
