    If the term "Redskin" was meant to actually reflect an honorable history of U.S. interaction with Native Americans, that would be one thing. The fact is that outright mass murder and deceit after deceit after deceit makes up that history. End of story.

    Hicks had an OPS of around .700 after April. He also was injured in AAA until the very end of the season when he started hitting again. Also, I am, again, only calling for him to leadoff against right-handed pitching.

    By the way, I do think there is a difference in being a leadoff hitter. Leading off calls for pitch recognition and plate discipline. Hicks hadn't even really seen any MLB pitching, skipped AAA and was thrown into a position that was ridiculous. But he got better after being moved down. Note, that I only have him leading off against righties. Did Puckett start out as a leadoff hitter? Knoblauch was batting second, correct?

    Growing up in Bemidji (for you non-northerners, this means between Red Lake, Leech Lake/Cass Lake, and White Earth) the racism was readily apparent to me and after I eluded my own ignorance and also moved to Indiana, it became quite clear how ignored the problem of racism and our own American history towards Native Americans was indeed. It's so flabbergasting to me that a name like "Redskins" is still allowed given every other legit and illegit PC stuff is going on in America.

    No I don't think that those fans are racists. They are ignorant, however. Our society ignores racism against Native Americans since it has NOT been pushed to the forefront. One wouldn't get away with the Seattle Yellowskins, the San Antonio Brownskins, the Minnesota Whiteskins, or the Chicago Blackskins, would one?

    It isn't clear what world history you are reading. Yeah "hate America" is all this has been about? What?

    Quick thing: Santana's three full seasons of badness have been when his homer rate jump a bunch. His career average is 1.2 per nine. It was 1.6, 1.5, and 2.0 in those three seasons. The hit rate went up too, of course, but some of that is obviously the long ball. It is interesting to consider TF for him, then.

    That's an interesting result of your search! I see that Kershaw also pitched 122 innings that next year. I think that maybe 100 could be somewhat reasonable. I often think that innings limits end up slowing down some of these prospects too much in the Twins' system.

    I think Deduno has some trade value. He had an ERA+ of 106 last year in his limited time. If he were a free agent, he would certainly get some good-monied contract.

    What is funny about me is that I believe I said a month or so ago that the Twins should sign Hughes for 2 years and $22 million or something like that. Maybe I have been swayed by the TD prediction. I think the Lincecum deal is instructive, however. I think Hughes' salary expectation has to move towards that. So 2 and $28 was my newest 2 year prediction for him. I then was persuaded by others that two years was an unrealistic expectation, so that is why I went with 3 years.
