  1. Twins were so beat up in the Outfield they had to go acquire Ryan Lamarre in September just to finish the season. Imagine if Eddie had gone on the IL for 2 months, in favor of Darin Mastroianni, Rene Tosoni, or (insert your favorite replacement level outfielder from Minnesota's recent past). I for one would like to think Eddie for toughing it out and finishing the year.
  2. Age 25 is when most mortals make their MLB debut.
  3. The weather conditions at Hammond Stadium would have been considered terrible in Minnesota. Too warm to go ice fishing!
  4. Whoa! 59 degrees AND wind? Can't be outdoors in those conditions. What to do?
  5. I consider Rosario a X factor. I assume he is healthy. Can he field his position? Can he show some plate discipline so that opposing pitchers will have to throw the ball near the strike zone? If the answer to both is "yes", that Twins lineup will be very scary.
  6. Signing Josh Donaldson as a free agent was the biggest offseason move in the history of Minnesota baseball. Hindsight being 20/20, the Jack Morris signing before the 1991 season was bigger.
  7. It would appear that starting pitching is like sex. To quote Van Halen, "Everybody Wants Some". And the Twins ain't getting any.
  8. I can't see Detroit trading Boyd within the division
  9. I love Rendon. It'll never happen, but just think if it did!
  10. Second-half drop off could be due to injury. Or it could be due to the fact that pitchers figured out they don't have to throw the ball anywhere near the plate to get him out
  11. Worst decade of Twins baseball? 2010 and 2019 bookended 8 mostly unwatchable seasons. Honorable mention: the 90's (a world championship in '91 and a whole lot of yuck!)
  12. The Yankees had a great game plan. The twins just didn't get very many fastballs in the zone.
  13. Look at how many times Arraez made the list in past years.

  15. Winning is fun! Thanks, TD gang for a great time this summer!
  16. Odd that Odorizzi was only mentioned in comments once and not at all of the article. And Eddie was only mentioned in passing in the comments and not in the article. I'm not saying either one of those guys are the MVP but they are certainly worthy of mention.
  17. I never thought Duffey would ever get it figured out. He looked for all the world like just another twins reliever that was horrible it would never get better. Nice surprise!
  18. Become a junior high school teacher. Really, a Twins game is relaxing after a school day. Even if the bullpen blows another big lead and the Indians win again.
  19. Lenny Faedo, Hosken Powell, etc. That would not even have been a good Triple-A team
  20. Buxton should bat leadoff, but only the games where he's going to be productive at the plate. In all other games he should bat 9th
  21. This team kind of reminds me of the Royals team that won the World Series a few years back. They didn't really have Superstar players but they had a lot of really good ones who played well together
