    Who said anything about the long term at all? However, I never loved the pick, and remain doubtful. He was never THE MAN in Michigan the O was built around.....is any great NFL QB not a huge passer in college?

    It's nearly impossible. Also, I get why we have to kind of ignore them on the field. If we knew everything, I'm not sure we could cheer for any team.

    You can't get the money and the pick....their GM should be fired if he can't trade him for a 3rd, or a 2nd if they eat the money.....

    concur. Plus, why take the chance for a, what, 5% chance the guy they get back matters? Gotta factor in risk here.

    I think this is accurate, in what will happen. I don't see Nick's plan as most likely, especially keeping Larnach in this scenario.

    How does trading guys that won't be here in 27 or 28 make them not competitive in 28? If anything, it makes it more likely they are, as they get guys back.

    If they can't deal him, no way I tender him. Not on a team with limited payroll that is spending 10 million on a guy not here anymore.....He's just not that valuable, and him being in MN isn't going to matter all that much, IMO. There are, however, teams that have almost no OF....and could use him (though they'll bet MN non-tenders him, imo).
