  1. There is SKINNY, and there is take a chance on a guy skinny.......Who is your DH, now that Larnach is in AAA? Farmer? Gordon? That's the downside, IMO. And yes, that's assuming good health to start the year.
  2. They aren't making roster decisions on hot springs (only injuries), I'd think. This roster is set if healthy. The only battles are in the bullpen at this point, and even that's a spot, MAYBE two.
  3. I have no idea where that last paragraph comes from at all, but the Ferengi joke is good.
  4. If even one of them is ready, the Twins are in first, and all these INF are healthy, they'll just sit in AAA even if they have more upside than the backups already in MN.....which might be good for this year and the regular season, but isn't going to help next year or the playoffs. I get it, I don't love it. They are pretty much blocking every inexperienced player at this point. Which clearly indicates they think much higher of their chances this year than everyone else does.
  5. Bad Moon Rising 1:01 Dark horse Twins prospects that could be on upcoming top 100 lists? Emmanuel Rodriguez? Marco Raya? Connor Prelipp? Eric A Longenhagen 1:01 I'll add David Festa to that list, more likely than Prielipp for me.
  6. Larger Bases 12:15 There are a number of players, like Jose Salas, that have fallen off the list from last year. Has your opinion on guys like Salas changed meaningfully or has he slipped from a 50 FV to a 45+ FV? Eric A Longenhagen 12:15 Salas is just a 45 now
  7. not me: Mike 12:42 Is Emmanuel Rodriguez's omission from the list primarily related to health (his knee), contact problems (26% k-rate at low-A), or something else? Eric A Longenhagen 12:42 the combo
  8. Fangraphs has their updated top 100. Lee is very, very high, though the expected date is weird (and people are asking about it). https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-top-100-prospects/ well, here's the answer: The ETAs correspond to when guys need to be added to the 40-man for Rule 5 protection, rather than expected MLB debut.
  9. That's my issue. They are really securing the FLOOR, but I fell like my 5 foot 9 head would hit the ceiling of the backups (though I really like Farmer, and they got him before CC).
  10. I don't see them going pitcher......they could have taken Greene and took Lewis instead......(remember when everyone said hitters were safer.....). I want the best pitcher, but I don't see it.
  11. I'm a bit disappointed that this means Larnach is in AAA (or Kiriloff is hurt or in AAA) to start the year. I understand last year was killed by AAAA players ALL PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME, but I feel this is an over reaction, like using all caps to make a point........ I don't HATE it, but I don't LOVE it either. I think if they didn't have Farmer already, I'd like it quite a bit.
  12. Terrible idea. Imo. They have plenty of bullpen options. Gordon is the backup OF
  13. I don't understand this move, other than they clearly want DEPTH this year. They definitely aren't counting on rookies in the INF this year.....Farmer and this guy? I'm a little confused.
  14. Ya, there is no comparison between this deal and Paddock's deal, imo. Neither in terms of risk or reward.
  15. Hasn't he blown out his knee multiple times, including walking out his door? Also, that's not enough money to buy him out, IMO. If he thinks there is any chance he's healthy, no way he takes that deal. He already has a big signing bonus..... I can't see either side doing this deal.
  16. I am a big believer in Martin, so he's my bounce back and pick to click. Gonna be a huge year for him.....
  17. They'd have to give up next year's whole draft (slight exaggeration, but not much) to get one of the QBs this year....I'd deal for more picks next year and punt this year, potentially. I've read next year's class is better (but you read that alot). Gonna be hard to get a QB this year, frankly. LOTS of teams ahead of MN need QBs and have more trade capital.
  18. DL Tonga re-signed today.....that's fine.
  19. Brandel re-signed for backup OT duty (or a lot of starts if Darrisaw has more concussion issues).
  20. We can't move Correa to 3rd because he makes too much to play there? Did I infer incorrectly? ************************************** Yes, you infer correctly. His value is as a shortstop. His stats as a shortstop are awesome!! His stats don't translate nearly as well as a 3rd baseman(middle of the pack?) to be clear, if Lewis is a better SS, they should do what? Also, why does it matter?
  21. Can you point to any evidence OF is more dangerous than infield at all? I can't find any on line.
  22. So much speed with Lewis...I have no idea why people want him at 2B.
  23. What does it say about him, other than he actually honestly answered questions? There is nothing negative here, imo.
