  1. This. They aren't dealing one of the two players the Twins need.....move on. Nothing to see here.
  2. Disappointing. The stats on teh Twins record with Gray starting is one reason some of use want to deal him...... Buxton cannot bat in the top third of the order anymore, and should be benched for a few games. Julien 100% needs to be the DH. I have no idea what to do with Buck at this point. In any event, they scored a lot of runs, so that's good.
  3. But, I've made my point, and want to focus on the game at this point......
  4. Because they don't think they are good players.....isn't that what I responded to? That the FO does not think they are better than Gallo or Kepler.....so, ya, that means the FO thinks they are bad at baseball. If they don't think they are worse, why aren't they playing? He's only been up for 2 games (3 now) because they don't think he's better than Gallo or Kepler.....clearly. Or he'd have been up.
  5. If they don't think he's better, they should trade him. And, they are in real trouble next year if Wallner and Larnach aren't even as bad as the two corner guys on teh roster now. They literally start 3 backup / DFA Ofers right now......that's not a recipe for post season success.....and will be apparently even worse off next year when all three of those guys are gone.
  6. I'd argue that a starting OF of Gallo, Taylor, Kepler is a crippled roster....is there any WS winning team with that bad an OF in recent years?
  7. How about a 3B? And, they have chaffe on the 40 man. If not, then just DFA the AAA guys they won't call up and start promoting guys from lower levels. We know Kepler isn't good. hasn't been for 3 years. We don't know if Wallner is better or not, but he's been better this year (in a tiny sample size).
  8. My tirade isn't aimed at Rocco......mostly.
  9. It's clear they should trade Wallner at this point, since they refuse to play him.
  10. So, no Wallner. Why is he up? Seriously? Why is he up? this is 100% why I said they wouldn't call him up to replace Miranda, because it would be a waste of his growth / time. Why is Buxton still batting 3rd? At least Jeffers is playing....
  11. How about one of them, even? You know, for a corner OF that hasn't hit in three years?
  12. What youngsters? Who does Polanco replace? I agree, the FO thinks this O will be better w/o doing anything.
  13. I'd deal from their deep pool of 40 -45 FV guys.....like Severino (who they won't promote) or Larnach (who they won't promote) or Kiersey (he's not exactly young) for him. I don't know if that is enough. But if this FO won't promote guys, and seem to love veterans so much, they might as well get value for those guys while they can.
  14. Right.....you have Lee (if Lewis is at third, Lee has to be your 2B of the future) and Severino (I think he's traded for a RP this deadline, or as part of a bigger deal) and Martin (who should only be a LF or CF at this point, but maybe his arm can't take that right now) and Schoebel (too far away to worry about). Julien has to coexisit with Lewis and Lee in the near term, whether Polanco is here or not.
  15. Great stuff. The draft coverage here has been truly impressive. I have no idea other than what I read, but I really like the top of this draft a lot. And the middle rounds are intriguing.
  16. I disagree that no one acknowledges that prospects are risky. Of course, so are veterans (Mahle and Motas come to mind from last year's deadline). No team is built w/o using prospects....the more you have that are likely to be good, the more good MLB players you'll end up with. They could end up with something like Cincy did for Mahle or Castillo......(not that good on the 2nd one, I'd guess). They could end up with what the Twins got for Berrios (which is still more than they would have got if they didn't trade him).
  17. If I was him, I'd want a 3B that was hitting like a mad man since moving to AAA, not ANOTHER LH corner OF........so I get his frustration. This team doesn't need to add Wallner to Gallo and Kepler...... Also, still not sure how Polanco makes the team any better if he replaces Julien. Certainly not offensively.
  18. Where does polanco play, and what happens to Julien in your scenario? Because it's very unlikely polanco his better than Julien has. I'd listen to offers. If you can get a guy in AA that is a 45+or better, I likely make the trade. This is driven by my belief that they have three starters as good as him, for the playoffs, and that this FO refuses to take a chance on fixing the hitting issues, meaning I think they have little to no chance in the playoffs. All that said, if they keep him, it's not an awful decision......
  19. I'm baffled that anyone thinks trading Gray is panicking. It's the literal opposite of that. Truly. I think it is reasonable to keep him, but I don't think this team, given they refuse to fix the dumpster fire of an outfield, has any chance in the playoffs. There are plenty of reasons to keep Gray, none of which have to do with not panicking
  20. Ah. Right. Well, that won't work here.... Not that for one second I thought that offer would be made.
  21. Polanco at third is my vote. Or Julien at first and AK to the outfield over Kepler.
  22. Also, Gallo is better than Max at everything, why is he not in the lineup?
  23. I think it's Arizona. How about a three way trade? Az gets sonny gray and a minor league pitcher from Minnesota, plus if they want Gallo or Kepler and any hitter not named martin from AAA. LA gets one of the top prospects from Az and Julien and Headrick. Mn gets Ohtani and a mid tier prospect from AZ. Seems like too much for Minnesota to give up ... But he replaces Gray in the rotation and Kepler in right.
  24. It's not like Kepler hits lefties. And yesterday? They need an infielder, and called up another LH OF....
