  1. Look, if you make the playoffs, you beat enough other teams to do so. Nothing to be embarrassed about at all.
  2. I understood that....I was pointing out Julien was as good or better....
  3. I don't think they'll need to move up for Penix, but he's so accurate, so maybe? Also, no way Penix goes before Daniels, imo.
  4. that wasn't aimed at you at all. Luzarado was about the 25th best pitcher last year....so I get why you want him. I don't get why Miami would trade him w/o the kind of insane haul you point out. I would NOT make that trade, but I get why that might be the price (again, I think Seattle overpaid for Castillo).
  5. Also, Julien only played 109 games....if he plays 150 at that rate, he puts up 4.2 fWAR.....with more years of control left than Arraez, a lot more. I don't know that people understand how good Julien and Wallner were last year in their limited playing time.
  6. Jenkins is the number 1 pick in many drafts, if not most. That value is insane. So I get this. If I was certain Lewis could play more than 60 games a year, I'd likely have him 1, since he's in the majors....but he's been hurt three years in a row now. I'm shocked the Jeffers "haters" aren't here yet, but I agree he's in the top 10 (nor sure where exactly).
  7. I'll say this.....if the Seattle deal for Castillo is the comparison (and it likely is, as he was better but had less control), then this is the price.......though I thought at the time Seattle over paid.
  8. Brooks Lee is a top 20 prospect....so, ummm, better than that plus another top 50 prospect and two starters they can keep or flip for more prospects?
  9. Hoskins isn't getting signed to share time with AK....AK sits, plays OF, or goes to AAA (assuming he has options) if Hoskins is here. Unless people think Buxton will play CF and Rhys DHs..... In other words, I agree with nicksaviking
  10. I mean, they'll just franchise him if he won't sign. I assume. Because no one is trading him.
  11. Outside Hunter, those edge players stink. Again, I'm not defending his drafts! There just wasn't much to work with either. Two different things. Again, I'd fire him if this next off season isn't great
  12. Oops. I think there are four? legit starters from the past
  13. You wanted him to fix the defense in two years? There are all of two guys on the roster there that were on the team when he started. Two. That's almost impossible. That's how bad Spielman was.
  14. I'm not in love with his drafts at all.....I've said here, several times, impress me this off season, or lose your job.....(not that I think this happens, but I haven't seen any evidence he's good at his job). But that has nothing to do with luck after round 4..... Pace was luck, just like anyone acquired after round 3/4......In some fairness, they did deal early picks for a great TE (who, sigh, is now hurt, possibly into next year). I hated not blowing up the team this year, but you can't do that after winning 11 games....you just can't. In any event, I'm just not going to care one way or the other if a 5-7th round pick is good or not.
  15. Luck. Really, this idea that we can control and predict the future is over rated. They were all fliers, some worked a tiny bit, some did not. I get we all hate KAM's first draft....bu the second was not bad at all (esp. if you give them credit for Pace). But ripping a decision about any pick after round 3/4 is just ripping luck. If people thought guys they picked in round 5 or later were starters, they would have picked them before then.
  16. Most picks that late never play more than a game here and there.....I don't mind the pick either way. As for your starting, whatever, ready/good enough/whatever...I think you are reading way too much into that simple post that was really about how bad the play was. As pointed out, he could have run half way to Wisconsin on that play......so much bad in that play.
  17. Maestro is great
  18. Monarch, legacy of monsters.... It's got issues, not sure how I feel Just finished lessons in chemistry, which is great, but starts out a bit depressing. Picard.... In season one, no idea why this is so hated. We liked it. Reacher .... If you liked season one, you'll like season two. Foundation.... We really like this. So different than the books, but great adaptation.
  19. That was the first play I saw! And I knew.....he's not ready! That was....not good....
  20. Here are all the movies I saw in 2023....some come with links to running commentary of bad movies....enjoy, or not. Kind of like movies. https://mikesixel.com/movies-i-saw-in-2023/
  21. I mean, players do get better over time, sometimes....so he might be more someday, but ya, he's not close right now. I'd start Mullens, I guess. Yuck. It's not like he hasn't gotten JJ rocked a few times....
  22. Ya, no way he gave the fans what they want....
  23. He's clearly the best of the three.
  24. They literally played against you at QB for four or five games.... I'm ok keeping him, but I'm not convinced he's some genius
