  1. You'd have to find a team trying to win now, who had an elite pitcher they wanted to trade. That would be zero teams. It's not what any team would do.
  2. Second favorite player last year, so I was thrilled he was there at five. I really do believe he could be in the majors in 25.... But I won't be disappointed if it's the following year
  3. Sudden death. I'm not sure they win any way. Mahomes said if they needed a TD, they'd have gone for two and the win.. and we all know they'd make it
  4. Because you never get rid of the mediocre veteran, and the prospect sits in the minors. If there's an injury, they just send the guy back down when the veteran is healthy. You need multiple injuries for Martin to play more than a few games if you sign MAT or similar.
  5. fascinating. Truly. Moving him to LF and Wallner to RF does so much for this team long term (I don't think they'll put Lee in the majors ASAP this year).....
  6. I have zero interest in backup/not all that good players at this point. Add stars, or move on.
  7. ok, so it could take a year...... So, a whole year before even considering if he should come, according to that post.
  8. You never know the future.....like holding Strasburg out to rest him his rookie year! You take the chance to win when you have it, because the M&M boys might get injured and your long term plans can be shot. That said.....he won't be, and they shouldn't make decisions on ST stats, IMO. My feeling is that this board vastly undervalues Lee (not the rankers, clearly) and he will be much better in AAA than most here expect. He'll also waste most of the year there, and unless they move Lewis to the OF or Julien to first/in a trade, he'll never give the Twins all the value he can because others will be blocking him.
  9. I do agree that one of them MIGHT try the sign Cousins route.......sure. I don't think Penix will have steam at this point. Which, wow, he was so great so many games, and so mediocre in others.
  10. Sure, someone could decide not to take QB....but if you don't have a QB and then have a shot at one and don't take one, well, I'm confused what you are doing. I guess the Bears could keep Fields....but they Vikings and Bears aren't dealing this many picks to each other, IMO (yes, I know about the trades with Detroit and GB).
  11. Tacoby Bellsbury 2:03 Who's your all-time favorite French Canadian MLB player? Ben Clemens 2:03 After looking through a list, isn't Edouard Julien the only real choice? 2:04 oh no that was active players I mean my favorite is still Julien but I would take Gagne and Morneau over him still so far dust 2:12 Morneau isn't French Canadian, the last name is a red herringReactReact Ben Clemens 2:12 What 2:13 outrageous Mike 3:01 Will the Twins trade for or sign a good SP this off season? Will they find a RH hitting OF? Both? Neither? Ben Clemens 3:01 I'm guessing neither at htis point
  12. KC has a very good D and the best QB in teh game (and their OL is allowed to hold every play, blatantly)....so it will be hard. I'd deal up for Daniels if they can......but I don't see anyone trading out of the top 3 at this point.
  13. Should SF have kicked off in OT, so they knew if they needed a FG or TD? I vote yes.
  14. I really do like this trade for both teams. I want the end of the bench to be optionable player(s).....and while I like Gordon, I don't think he's as valuable to THIS TEAM as another good RP.
  15. Are you suggesting punting the next decade?
  16. We'll just disagree here. I want the end of the bench to be rookies with options and upside. I am not so fearful as many here seem to be about young guys. If the system is so awful they can't find a backup CF, then they should fire the entire FO.
  17. I don't need another mediocre veteran. Just cycle thru Martin and others in the minors until one sticks. Kepler isn't playing center.
  18. Interesting! And likely good. I'm surprised they got a guy they can plug in right away. No one that complained about the bullpen being ignored last year can do so this year.
  19. McCarthy won't be there in round two.
  20. If you mean the difference between the two articles, no. They use slightly different methodologies.
  21. very much so,. Also, it shows an issue with season long stats that peanut butter value....he was the best player in ball for 2-3 weeks, then he was not, then he barely played. It's like rolling a 6 and a 1 and saying you were average......
  22. Yes! A HR is 100% guaranteed to score at least one run. A double is not. The math on this stuff is very extensive...that said, wrc+ is much better and has better math behind.
