  1. My doctor helped my premature posting.
  2. Pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Hughes weaving in and out of trouble, and Dozie getting a big hit. Be nice to vulture a win here.
  3. Just got back for a spin in the DeLorean from October 2020. The announcers were interviewing Gibson, who was in a Kansas City uniform. ANNOUNCER: "So, Gibby, from outhouse to the penthouse! You just pitched the second perfect game in World Series history. What a story!" GIBSON: "Yeah, it's been a great ride. Can't say enough about the Royals organization. They told me, 'Just do what you've always done,' and man, it paid off." ANNOUNCER: "And you won the Cy Young last year, and most likely again this year, with maybe the MVP thrown in." GIBSON: "It's all a dream."
  4. Five out of the six walks we've surrendered have been to guys hitting below .200. That's not right.
  5. My Lakota name means Bad Attitude. I hearby bequeath that name to all the Twins for the remainder of this contest.
  6. Y'know, Mauer was a goalie in high school. (Or was that Morneau?)
  7. FWIW, I read on ESPN's MLB home page that this is the fifth anniversary of Phil Humber's perfect game with the White Sox. He had 20.2 innings in eight appearances for the Twins in 2008-09. No decisions then. Went 14-14 with Chicago. Then went totally south in Houston, going 0-8 with a 7-plus ERA in 2013. Out of baseball, as far as I know.
  8. The National Haiku Poets League called. They're offended by the attempts at poetry.
  9. Every Twin starter hit safely. This is good. Not normal, but good.
  10. Tom T. Hall has new lyrics for his song, "I Love"... I love... Big early leads. Pitchers without needs. Players battlin' tails. And trip-aaaaales!
  11. My wife and I own and operate a clothing store. We hang all our polos and golf shirts. Don't know why others do it differently.
  12. So I'm at work, look up the boxscore and am pleasantly surprised to see we're up 3-1, but the bases are juiced with two outs. Leave for 15 seconds and we're down 5-3. My immediate thought: That escalated quickly.
  13. Your wish is granted. You have two more available.
  14. I'm at work, so "watching" the game on ESPN boxscore. Let's all do a mind-meld and convince Mr. Sano to hit ball hard, not strike out. EDIT: Hope he doesn't get caught in a rundown.
  15. So much gloom and doom. Remember: Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  16. Man, I hate getting caught in a rundown. Getting the tire tracks off my back is impossible.
  17. CBU: Good Guys 3, Evil Team in Black 1.
  18. The Twins Take No Prisoners Tour continues tonight, as Minnesota goes for its sixth straight win against AL Central opponents. (Recall that we defeated these same Chisox the final two games last season.) Sorry to talk baseball. I deserve shunning.
  19. IIRC, the Twins swept the Angels in April for their first four wins after losing nine straight at the start.
  20. Timely hitting, shutdown pitching, sterling defense. Yep, it's the Twins. I like it. But seriously, I want to see Buck get on base. A lot. Good thing the rest of the team is finding ways to scoot around the bases.
