    did you watch the game? I did. a rocket hit to SS for a double play in the first. hicks made a geat catch on ball driven to deep center in the first. the single in the second was a line drive that almost hit Meyer. the single to start the 3rd was a line drive up the middle that made Meyer duck. 1st out in the 4th was a line drive out to hicks in center.

    What makes you think the 2015 Arcia will be any better than the 2014 version? He sure didn't look any better defensively in spring training than he did last year....

    The very definition of SSS and in spring training to boot. The guy is getting a chance to resurect his career. He should shut up and take it.

    I would argue that Hicks hasn't been "fine down here", but the stuff about Arcia is pretty spot on.

    Guys who slug .300 don't have long major league careers.

    In the article Hicks said in September it all clicked. Hicks hit .250/.348/.300 with nine runs batted in and two stolen bases in 21 games last September. If that's clicking, he's never gonna make it. I think he's going to end up being a AAAA player. I hope I'm wrong though.

    Well, you aren't going to get a hall of fame, or a cy young contender, or even an all star starting pitcher for $12 million a year in free agency.....

    What makes you say this? Torii offering a few tips around the batting cage is suddenly going to turn Hicks around? I don't see it.

    Not to nitpick, but a late inning defensive replacement isn't going to help someone like Nolasco, he will be out of the game by then.

    Nobody is going to give you anything for Pelfrey in a trade, even if he pitches well out of the bullpen.

    The idea that Hunter can miraculously fix Hicks by being his "mentor" is a joke.

    Schaefer isn't a poor defender in CF or below average in LF.

    His defense drives me nuts. He has a strong arm, but it seems like he almost would go brain dead on what base to throw to sometimes and he missed the cut off man way to often for my liking. These things should be second nature to him by now and they aren't. Everyone talks about his bat, but he needs to be able to play decently in the field and he sure isn't there yet.
