  1. Of course not, but ignoring a problem never makes it go away. What would be hurt by him going to the authorities and reporting the crime? She would be mad at him and never speak to him again? big friggin deal. A serious crime was committed and you seem content to do nothing. not me. We are close to our neighbors, who are a retired couple. A couple of years ago some people moved in 3 houses down and across the street from us. Our neighbors started seeing all kinds of cars pulling up behind that house and people running out to the cars in the middle of the night. Drug deals. When our neighbor told us this I called the cops and reported what was going on, i didn't sit on my damn hands.
  2. I'm just telling you that the best way to be credible with accusations is to report them immediately, there simply isn't any other way. Did it help her to keep this to herself for 2 years? Obviously not. she kept it inside until she couldn't take it anymore. This firestorm of sexual assault stories coming out now need to be a learning point of what to do for future victims and what they need to do, no matter how hard.. That's all I'm saying.
  3. Of course if the perpetrator is committing a crime its his fault, i'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that if you know a serious crime is being/has been committed, you have an obligation to do something, and not just sit there twiddling your thumbs. So, for example,if you have evidence that you believe to be true that your neighbor is killing people, you don't think you have any moral obligation to report it to authorities?
  4. Look, here's the deal as I see it. The world isn't fair. This #metoo movement won't accomplish anything without difficult actions being done by victims. This means reporting crimes to the authorities/police WHEN THEY HAPPEN. There is evidence that needs to be preserved. They need to press charges. They need to follow through. Will it suck for them? Probably, but real change is NEVER easy. Hard sacrifices will have to be made. But you can't wait for years and then throw out accusations and not expect people to have legitimate questions about what happened. Apparently she has changed her avatar to BE BOLD. Being bold would have been having the guts to go to the police when this happened and pressing charges. One last comment. To those on this site who claim to know her very well and absolutely believe what she claimed happened and apparently knew this for months. How would you feel if because of your inaction, this, or worse, happened to someone else? You had a moral obligation to whatever can to do what is right, damn the consequences.
  5. I don't give a rip about likelihoods, probabilities, etc. I just want the facts IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE.
  6. yes, it absolutely matters. if that was an exaggeration, what else might she have exaggerated in the story? DETAILS MATTER, and it's why these things should be reported immediately.
  7. Dozier bet on himself and it looks like he is going to win that bet. Good for him. He'll get paid, either here or somewhere else.
  8. Well, apparently it might not have been 10 minutes, although that what she claims elsewhere. And purple skin is basically the definition of a bruise. don't get that part of her statement either. When questioned by a Twitter user about how long Sano tried to get her into the door, Bissen wrote, “It’s not like I clocked it. I felt like an eternity that I was pulling with every bit of strength I had in my legs, in my arm. My wrist was red and purple when I got home that night. (not a bruise, just sore)
  9. This doesn't make any sense. A quote from her: “Their car was pulled around to a back hallway door. As we got outside [sano] decided he needed to use the restroom. I asked my boss where it was and pointed to the door we just walked thru,” Bissen wrote. “Apparently I was too close and [sano] took that as a signal that I wanted him to grab me and try to take me back thru that door.” So, they are outside the building, her boss is right there (she spoke to him asking where the bathroom was) Sano grabs her outside the building where the "boss" supposedly is and tries to drag her through THAT door, and yet the "boss" didn't see anything. Something smells about this.....
  10. Well ,except its the ACCUSED that get to pick the jury of his/her peers in a real court of law, not the accuser. And thank God for that...
  11. Apparently there were 2 "witnesses". Should be easy to collaborate their stories with hers so the police could press charges, no?
  12. So, from what I gather, every one of the "staff" here at Twins Daily has known this for months, correct? A quote from an article: Nick Nelson "I speak for the entire Twins Daily ownership group in saying we believe her story". How can he speak for everyone unless everyone knew it?
  13. So, if you learn of information about a crime you believe to be true, you just ignore it?
  14. OK, I just read something that I have to respond to. She claims "I didn’t expect it to go viral". what a crock of horse manure. And it also claims Nick Nelson knew of this months ago. I've lost all respect for him. He was told of a crime and didn't report it to the police.
  15. I wrote up several responses to posts here and erased them all before posting. People are going to believe what they want to believe. People are going to think they "know" a person. Let MLB and the police sort it out.
  16. So, you know for sure this happened? How?
  17. how much do you expect to save if you resign Dozier and Mauer? Mauer's contract would go down, but Dozier's would go up.
  18. Huh??? They don't have him under contract for 3 more years, that's what this post is debating.
  19. Nitpicking his diet is dumb? IT'S PART OF THE JOB OF BEING A MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYER!!
  20. If I'm the Mets, I don't say a word and hang up the phone.
  21. well yeah, but he slugged a whopping .377 and OPS'ed .754 against lefties. Vargas was .494 and .818, in an admittedly SSS.
