  1. I like Colabello because of the way he is playing. I don't even think about his story when I read his name in the minor league reports every day.
  2. Another two hits by Chad Christensen. Keep it up!
  3. I disagree. Everyone besides Thielbar has at least 22 appearances, and the others besides Swarzak and Pressley have at least 28. That's a big enough sample size to at least see how they are performing with regards to inherited runners so far this year.
  4. This is the first year I've really followed the farm system passed AAA. I've seen Madison Boer mentioned around here before. What's the story on him?

    Dozier

Has anyone else noticed the big differences in numbers by Dozier in home games vs away games? .271/.347/.477/.824 at home .194/.238/.286/.524 on the road What's up with the big difference?
  6. I'm not for trading Plouffe. I think he still has a lot of value to us even if Sano does well and comes up earlier than expected, but I could really see the Yankees wanting him. I didn't check the stats or depth charts for the other teams, but it looks like the Yankees could really use all four of the guys you mentioned. Guys like Willingham and Plouffe could do great offensively in Yankee Stadium and Morneau would likely see his homerun total go up.
  7. I'm not very familiar with how rookie league teams work. Does everyone get a chance to play to see what they can do?
  8. Since we're talking hypothetical here, say we call Gibson up and he gives us 5-7 starts, and the Twins end up winning those starts and we somehow get into the playoffs by 1 game. Do those starts provide any value?
  9. With all the talk about Gibson, what is the plan on Colabello? Does he have any kind of future with the Twins? I don't see what more he could do offensively. Also, does the recent performance by Herrmann make the Twins consider moving Doumit?
  10. "It ain't over 'til it's over."
  11. This team isn't surprising me. I expected them to finish slightly under .500 at the beginning of the year and they are 3 games under right now even with the 10 game losing streak. I don't remember why I thought that now, maybe I just thought they couldn't be that bad three years in a row. Still a lot of baseball left to play
  12. If he keeps performing like he is now, I don't see a problem in keeping him. Maybe the Twins actually made a good signing with him last offseason, but the jury is still out on that.
  13. I don't understand how it is foolish to think we have a shot at the playoffs. We are 5.5 games out with Detroit having to play Boston tonight. We are playing solid defense, the pitching is improving, and some guys besides Joe Mauer are actually hitting the ball. The front office should be doing everything they can within reason to try to win as many games as possible this year. I don't expect this team to make the playoffs, but I don't like the statement saying it is foolish to think we have a shot. To answer the question from the original post, I don't have a problem with them not negotiating right now. Personally, the lack of homeruns doesn't bother me and I would rather see Willingham or Doumit be traded. To me, runs are runs no matter who scores them or how they are scored.
  14. The outfielder was relatively deep in the outfield when he fielded the ball and made a great throw. I think it was a bad decision to send Doumit anyway because there were no outs and Doumit isn't known for his speed. If there were one or two outs, I would have liked the decision more.
  15. Probably the wrong thread, but do you have any news on Rich Harden? Last I heard about a month ago his rehab wasn't going well. I'm guessing I shouldn't expect to hear much about him.
  16. "My biggest fear is he runs too fast to left or right field and runs into another outfielder and falls on his hip like Bo Jackson did, essentially ending his career." In the past 4-5 years, they have learned a lot more about what they can do medically with hip injuries. Bo Jackson's injury nowadays probably wouldn't be as serious.
  17. I really think trading Buxton would be the dumbest thing the Twins could do right now with the excitement surrounding him. Strasburg is a good pitcher, but I feel like too many times he only goes 5 or 6 innings and isn't he yet to pitch an entire MLB season?
  18. I wasn't trying to play a game, or take a jab at the front office or any of the posters here. It's clear that people don't agree with what Terry Ryan and the rest are doing, but it's also clear that there are some far-fetched ideas being thrown around. I was just wondering what it would be like if the fans had a say in the organization.
  19. I wonder what the Twins would be like if they let the fans run the organization. That would be an interesting concept.
  20. One problem I have with Dozier is it seems like he hits more pop flies rather than line drives. I don't know if the stats back me up on that one, though.
  21. I think you're overreacting a little bit. That kind of outing doesn't qualify as horrible. It's not like Justin Verlander has never given up 4ER in 6 innings.
  22. This is a little off topic, but people mentioned left handers who throw 95 aren't grown on trees. Why then is Mason Melotakis starting right now throwing 90-93 instead of being a reliever and throwing mid to upper 90s?
