Twins Designate Alex Jackson for Assignment

possibly Jeffers is gone but we don't know that for sure. but until we do Jackson needed to stick around the guys hitting very well give him a chance to play. He's not too bad of a catcher either. we don't have anyone from all this catching information that I read that's ready to be on a major league team next year. so it would be caratini and Jackson and if Jackson played half the time the result might be surprisingly good. -
well that's just shameful. Yes, I do remember the last goalie to play without a mask and a set of North Stars Gump Worsley but that doesn't mean anything at all. any sport ever devised by mankind is better than baseball. nothing is it's the one and only perfect game. Glenn Perkins. he had a season. he couldn't play at all. as a closer he was making $6 million. yes, I assume he took the money but he said I don't understand why you should get paid if you're not playing. be difficult to find a player from any team that would even make that comment. it is a money game. this is not high school. this is not college. this is where people leave their families gone from home 3 months out of six. otherwise why would they do it well for the love of the game? yeah, but you can for the love of the game in your backyard, you don't need to travel. when I see people wearing crazy stuff like on TV at the football game, these are grown men going out there making a complete fool of themselves like those dudes in Oakland used to be. hey guy, you're spending what $1,000 for the afternoon. the guys on the field are laughing at you all the way to the bank and you show up for the draft day really. Go spend time with your family.. there are baseball people let me say that's not killerbrew oliva Carew like Clemente and Aaron and Willie Mays. Bert blylevin made $9,000 one season. Jim Cox made $13,000 one season. The guy in Philadelphia. Bryce, what's his last name? $30 million in one season and if you try to change the rules, you'll take his fists and slap the commissioner to the ground. here's the thing sir. people pay huge money. you want them to double their $300 average price ticket in a given stadium and pay $600 to see you play so you can make $60 million a season. you think that's good? I haven't thought of a word to use to call you on. it's not going to be your first name. well y'all have a nice day. if anybody wants to reply to that, sometimes I can't get your reply. I tap on that little thing doesn't always come up. ticket should be 10% of what they are and everybody would still make a fortune

The four main guys for the outfield would be Larnack Buxton Rodriguez, Jenkins and Roden. I picked roden because when he does hit it he can hit it a bit harder than Martin, but I really love watching Martin play. in the infield Lee culpepper, Keisha Clemons, caratini, Lewis and Kriedler. Right now then we have two shortstops that don't hit very well at all and only one of them plays good defense. with all the hype for culpepper. hope this is just the start. it'll get better. I am definitely waiting for Houston. that guy is special. if you go back to say the 1940s and 1950s and maybe even later you had your starting nine Major league players and you did not switch around. hardly at all. that person stayed there the whole season he did not get platooned. there was no strategy and there was no strategy for the type of hitter that batted in each position. I really like seeing Cesar tovar leading off rod Carew second Tony will leave III Harmon killerbrew 4th Bob Ellison 5th. think it was Jimmy Hall 6. maybe Ted Uehlander's 7th? and I do recall the game where Cesar tovar played every position catching and pitching. also. I'm missing one eighth. I don't remember. how about Bobby Thompson? second base he passed away with cancer. we're not getting it done. ladies and gentlemen. great looking team. wonderful people but there's too many average hitters. we don't have the 40 home run guy. the 100 RBI guy 18 wins 8 loss pitcher. The best starters we have can be fairly inconsistent. The loss of so many during the season is a major issue. The starting 8 hasn't been injured all that badly. none of them are getting the production done that is needed although nice years are being put together. when the end of the season comes and the voting is done for most valuable player when it comes to the offense, none of those guys are going to be in the top 20.

I like that this one reads. you put Rodriguez up there. everybody's all excited. he is a real exciting player but when he strikes out 40% of the time, good gracious. Jenkins is the number one guy. he needs to be the guy that's up because you can't bring up both of them where you going to put them? Boston will be back by the weekend. then you send send roden down to get to Jenkins and if you want to send Martin down to get to Rodriguez there's not four spots because you have Larnack having his best season and they're all left-handers. I don't know if chickens or Rodriguez have some kind of hitting record batting against left-handed pitching. probably not to platoon with Larnack. everybody's all all hyped up about Culpeper I was too. I still am but he's not playing all that good defense. I thought he played better defense and he's not hitting very well either but it's still just a couple of games. he's starting to look fantastic on that home run though. to win the division or playoff spot the pitching has got to get better. it would be if certain people weren't injured so the offense has to really step up. so give these guys a try for a couple of weeks. see if they can do a little better in the outfield.

Rojas finally gave up a couple of runs. somehow he was getting him out with those crazy wide balls he was throwing. but he has cleaned that up. really nice and so what he gave up a couple of runs. he needs to come up and give him five innings he might do really well and of course along with Jenkins. who goes down? Martin just had a great game but he has had few of those in quite a while a shame but that might be the one. I will not even speculate on what picture should go down if nobody gets hurt to bring Rojas back up cuz you're also going to be bringing Ryan back up.

I think injuries have something to do with these players staying in AAA.

I would like to add that carotini although very good player, he hasn't been hitting lately so it wouldn't hurt to give him a little break and play. Jackson More to see how he does

I feel bad for wallner but I just don't think he's going to hit that well. it's a major League level and he plays poor defense. Jackson a great teammate who can hit the crap out of the ball this year. he still hits even though he rarely gets to play when he plays he hits and his defense is not that bad. so stop and think. there's a strong chance that Jeffers is going to get offered big money, so Jackson May well be very much needed next year and I would not hesitate to play him. not a good idea to designate this player. not at all. good gosh. Yes, 100% on everything else.

let's take a look at this. if either one of those three people get claimed, that means they don't have confidence in the AAA people at all. there are a good number of qualified candidates, not just Jenkins. also, I think if either one of those three were claimed those guys I'm speaking of would just be demoralized personally. this team's offense is not playoff caliber even though they have been scoring a lot of runs throughout the season, it just is not ready. we can't outpitch Kansas City with Dobnak or what's his name Comstock with that high earned run average? Mendez in right field and Jenkins in Center field.

The Louie trade my heart sank to my feet. I just could not believe it. you got a proven guy who's about to go Superstar and falvey sits in the booth. we love Louie but it was just a deal we just couldn't pass up. Rojas I think is great but Louie is special. how could you be a GM and not realize that? now he has to come back to Minneapolis and mow down his home team

I second this. thought. I would add sometimes we see a guy doing so well in AAA for example Fedko and then they come up and don't do much of anything. I think this is why the organizations don't want to bring people up too fast, but we just want them to go ahead and do it don't we? and for me that person is Houston. I even say give him a few swings in September if we are out of it.

The Shape of a Trade Deadline
killercarewoliva replied to Cody Schoenmann's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The twins I think tried to get an outfielder from the dodgers must not have worked out because after these fantastic additions to the bullpen you got to get to the 7th, 8th and 9th inning with a lead. and with what Cleveland did, it's going to be hard to type that because that's all the twins got. was some pitching no additional offense and the offense has been floundering lately. we have two people and AAA Jenkins and Mendez where Mendez is hitting around 300. we have one of my favorites. Auston Martin love watching him play but it's been tough on him lately. getting on base then roden is not shining too brightly over the success of varland but has great enthusiasm. put Jenkins in center field and Mendez and right field and just try. might even need to put Keaschell at designated hitter until the very important bat of Bell can come back to life. got to have the offense. got to try something. who I am really missing is Abel. wow! he was turning into something beautiful to watch and mowing them down. I don't think the powers that be feel like the two players I just mentioned in AAA are ready to come up without some changes in those that come to the plate. I don't see us taking over the spot that Cleveland probably is going to get to you. got to take a chance. -
Jeffers seems to love playing in Minnesota that we are a band of Brothers. I think he said. not exactly Mr. Jeffers. let's see what you do you will be offered. I have no idea how much so let me just guess $100 million and you know another team will give you $130 million. what's going to happen to your band of Brothers then? I was thinking like this person they needed to just make a trade anywhere but New York see what knees could have been helped. One little draft pick isn't going to make up the difference.

the situation is with compensation. it'll just become less and less to the point. there is none. and the 6 years tied to your team last bargaining the players wanted 3 years which would more than ruin an already almost ruined situation with the lesser income teams. who wins every year with a 3-year deal. before the Minnesota twins or at least half of the teams in baseball free agency thing? when was that 1976? so they're about Kurt flood and Andy mesersmith were the players that got it started. so when everybody's tied to their team, unless traded salaries were a whole lot less prices to go to a game where a whole lot less so that began crazy money and where it has gotten to is beyond my wildest imagination $700 million for 10 years.

you have to give up something to get something. so if one team needs pitching the other team needs outfield. it helps both teams but to get a guy like green it's going to have to be a good piece of outfield. Culpeper is not hitting major league level averages in AAA. I understand he's a above average fielder but Houston. why isn't he in AAA look at his average that young man can hit and he can field like the best of them. I think he's way ahead of Culpeper but that's just me. Houston is untouchable. Culpeper is not, although he's a great player. you get to bring of three people come September 1st. I'd go ahead and do it. give Houston a chance. well everybody we can see I'm really high on Houston.
