  1. Chase De Jong was # 16 in Seattle's org rankings? They must have a very weak system. He seems AAAA at best. Ryan Costello is the more interesting of the two for me despite being quite old for the levels he's playing at.
  2. I'm surprised at the lack of strikeouts from Enlow. He was touted as a high end arm and he's profiling a lot like Kohl Stewart to me.
  3. If Sano was 25% bodyfat when he was sent down(certainly on the high end) and lost 15 pounds of fat, then he lost 20% of the fat on his body. The idea that people can drop 15 pounds by eating salads doesn't ring true.Water weight tends to make up around 2 or 3 pounds of weight loss. He looks as slim as I've seen him in 2018 or 2017. Hopefully he finds his way.
  4. I like it. Good job FO. We'll be happy to have this organization depth in a couple years. It'll be fun watching Escobar contribute to a playoff team.
  5. Obviously that's not the best case return. I don't think you really believe that.
  6. I'd call it hacky analysis, but odd works as a descriptor too. Steamer projects Gordon as a slightly below league average offensive SS at the age of 22. Anyone suggesting he is a bust shouldn't be taken seriously. Of all the things to be negative about...
  7. Yeah. That's his only potential path to the majors. No velocity, no spin, no movement as a starter.
  8. Fs1. Sleger's really throwing some frisbees out there. I don't know that he'll ever be able to get out MLB batters with this stuff
  9. Fair enough, The problem is that Kyle Gibson will be pitching 0 relevant innings for the Twins. He's done well. Let's reward him with a trade to a contender and get someone who may play relevant games.
  10. Build a pitching staff for what? The season is over and the Twin's O/U wins next year will likely be under 80.
  11. Hard evidence of what? You're literally arguing that you're smarter than 100% of front offices. What are your qualification to be a thought leader for MLB front offices?
  12. That's not how this thread has gone at all. People have explained exactly what they like or don't like about Molitor and it's not because of small samples of wins/loses. I just don't get the point of bombing every single Molitor thread with multiple posts about how little managers effect the game and then back it up with no evidence whatsoever. Manager's roles are certainly going to be different in the future and Molitor doesn't check any of the boxes. https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/11/being-a-good-manager-is-no-longer-good-enough/544784/
  13. Maybe, but very likely not. So are we just supposed to stop talking about managers forever then? Every single Molitor thread now devolves into a manager value discussion with someone making the the totally unfounded claim that managers are irrelevant. If he's neutral EV then what do you care? Hiring a new manager won't hurt anything.
  14. I think the job descriptions are mostly self explanatory so I'm not sure what exactly what you're asking.
  15. I've seen you post this a lot but baseball is an information saturated environment. Certainly more so than the other major sports. The idea that data driven billion dollar organizations are spending millions when they could be spending 10 cents on the dollar is incredibly unlikely. What are you basing your assertion on? It seems likely that FOs would be very open to cutting 1 million off their books at the cost of 0 wins and even more unlikely that random internet posters would have found that market inefficiency before 100% of teams. What do you know that they don't?
  16. I've followed a bunch of really bad teams over the years and I have never seen a bigger bunch of whining, dramatic, unfocused, and entitled players/manager. Not to mention they are also really bad at baseball. The idea that stealing in the 4th inning is against the spirit of the game is so ridiculous on its face its hard to believe they actually said it publicly. I'd be surprised if 5/1000 baseball fans would want their teams to stop trying because they have a 9-2 lead in the 4th. Profar's has 10 stolen bases in 1000 career PAs and he just waltzed to 2nd. That should be embarrassing. Management: Please get what you can for our current players. Offer Dozier 0 dollars. Give Sano away to whoever wants the drama. Walk Molitor to his car and offer however much money it takes for him to go away. He can stare into the distance with a blank look on his face at his brand new lake house. I don't care. Just get rid of them. I have no problem watching 70 win teams but this is cringeworthy.
  17. I honestly think his blank look is genuine confusion.
  18. Do you have any thoughts? What do you think Molitor's strengths are?
  19. Seeing a slow pitcher get taken advantage of by the sneaky steal made my night.
  20. I missed the 7th. How was Reed's velocity?
  21. I'm interested in hearing more about Blankenhorn's defense. His bat could play anywhere in the infield.
  22. Good luck. Hit on your nurses and say your prayers.
