  1. http://www.kentucky.com/2014/07/25/3352073/ex-cat-logan-darnell-to-start.html?sp=/99/268/ Found another story...
  2. According to ESPN ap on my IPad, Darnell has been promoted to pitch Saturday I was unable to pull up the actual story too link...
  3. I say Willihammer will start a blog entitled "Hammer was framed"
  4. Ryan made his first appearance of the year in his first legitimate call up! (Last year he was in MLB because of the Rule V draft) he pitched 2 innings with 1 hit, 1 walk, and 1 Strike out. Season ERA =0.00 Since he is in the show, this will be my last prospect update unless he is sent back down.
  5. Just use Pressly correctly. Hes been doing a lot better with bases empty/less pressure situations. He's not been doing great in hold situations coming in with men on...
  6. July 21st Sean took the loss allowing 4 runs, 3earned in 6 innings while striking out 9. No walks, no home runs. He made it through six allowing only two runs (enough for the loss as the offense only produced one) but a single followed by an error began the top of the 7th and he left with no one out. Guerra promptly gave up a double leading to the third earned and the fourth unearned runs.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/07/twins-designate-matt-guerrier-for-assignment.html Called up! Back to the show in place of Matt Guerrier
  8. The only stat on Molina that stands out to me is the two triples. What do you know/see in Molina that stacks him up with the other 5?
  9. Granite Shoulders are even better than Rock Shoulders though technically Granite is a type of Rock
  10. Ryan took the loss for Rochester Friday night giving up four hits and (gasp) a walk leading to two runs in a two inning appearance striking out two (thats a lot of 2s).
  11. Regardless of record, there are pieces that need to be sold before the deadline ie Correia.
  12. Suzuki- No Deal, sell high and hope (really try) to resign in the off season for two years. We have the money and need at the position for a veteran. Willingham- No Deal, Thank You Josh but our time together is done, Bye bye Morales- No Deal, find a veteran in the off season that can play OF and offer the same veteran experience for young players to look up to. I like your thinking Nick but we have holes Dozier- let's talk, higher next two years than what he'd get in arbitration for 2-4 years cheaper than what he'd get after that at a reasonable rate that could be traded or built around? Deal. (Eg. 5-6 years with the 6th being a team and/or player option w/buyout option at 4-6 million per year) higher demands? We can wait to make that deal Bull pen FA's- No Deal, plenty of guys deserving a call up to fill these positions on the cheap and possibly/probably better over all than what we have (and what we have overall really is good) Correia- No Deal, With all the negatives I have heard on him he really has served his Pavano role that we hoped for with him. I prefer him over Pelfrey and Nolasco at this point but the problem is we do have them and its time to call up the future.
  13. The real question is where are the holes in the roster. Pitching is taken care of for better or worse. Correia will be off the books but Meyers/May/Johnson/Gilmartin/Pino/Deduno/Pelfrey (yes he is still lurking) will be added to Nolasco/Hughes/Gibson and there are plenty of minor league bullpen arms to fill the bullpen plus some. Fielding, pencil em in now: 1B Mauer, 2B Dozier, 3B Plouffe(moved to bench when Sano is ready) RF Arcia, Bench: 1B/RF Parmalee, Utility Inf Escobar, One or two of Hermann/Pinto/Fryer (You know its true so don't get your undies in a bundle) Needs Catcher, SS, OF, DH. Spend your money here.
  14. Personally I am hoping one or two of the three are packaged with one or two of Correia/Suzuki/Willingham/Morales to sweeten the trades and improve the return
  15. I say offer Suzuki and one of Gilmartin, Johnson, Darnell, Pino to sweeten the return or any number of relievers... We have some we could spare
  16. Sean has pitched twice since my last update going 12.2 innings of solid baseball. He allowed 6 runs as his relievers allowed two inherited runners to reach and Beresfords error allowed an unearned run. Can someone help my man out? He only K'd 8 batters to 4 walks. July 7th Sean had a rough second inning which should have been completed with two earned runs on a grounder to Beresford but an error allowed the runner from third to score and the batter was thrown out trying to advance to second base. He then cruised until the 7th when he allowed a runner to reach and was relieved by Oliveros with one out. The wheels came off for Oliveros and he allowed that runner plus two more to score. July 12th Sean went 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs with 3 Walks and 3 Ks. He gave up a run in the first but then cruised through 5 scoreless innings before being relieved with 2 on and one out in the 7th. The man on second eventually scored. Very solid appearance really.
  17. Ryan has made 4 appearances since my last update. 5.2 scoreless innings unless you count the two inherited runners that scored. He struck out 7 and walked none. He has made 7 straight appearances without giving up a walk. July 6th Ryan polished off a 6-1 victory in the second game of a double header sweep pitching two innings allowing 3 hits but striking out two and enducing a game ending Double Play. July 8th He earned his third save by pitching a scoreless ninth. Ibarra got the win in relief of Meyers July 10th Ryan relieved Oliveros with a runner on second in the bottom of the ninth. First batter single, second batter grounds to first runner scores ahead of the throw home. July 12th Ryan relieved Sean Gilmartin in the 7th with a tied scor, one out and runners on first and second. A fielders choice put runners on first and third and a single allowed one inherited runner to score before a come backer finished the inning. He threw a 1,2,3 8th inning and after a lead off single he earned three more K's in the ninth. Rochester scored four in the 8th so he got a win out of the deal too. overall he has appeared in 33 games, 56.1 innings, with 6 saves. He has 57 strike outs to 19 walks and a 2.88 ERA with a 2.66 FIP. If my Math is correct, his WHIP is 1.22, his K9 is 9.11, and BB9 is 3.04
  18. I am hopeful but he won't be here in the next couple years and The team needs to be building for 2015-16 as years to be in contention
  19. I would wonder what we could offer to pry one of the short stops away from the cubs. They won't need two long term...
  20. Gilmartin came up to AAA with Pino promotion to majors
  21. In the end all fans want one thing, Ws not Ls. No matter the other stats, he is 5-11 this year, 9-13 last year, and 12-11 the two seasons before coming to Minni. Career is 73-89 and he is paid millions. Irrational use of numbers? Yes. Sorta like the level of Mauer bashing the past couple years.
  22. This story was shared with me on Facebook as Thielbar was my adopt a prospect last year https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152506342707521&id=1554192521 seems to fit this thread as the media focuses on Minnesota for the All Star Game
  23. Here is what I believe it will be, not if I was GM, but where we will be with TR as GM and Gardenhire still as manager... C Suzuki, Fryer 1B Mauer 2B Dozier SS Escobar, Santana, Nunez 3B Plouffe RF Arcia LF Parmalee CF Fuld DH Colabello SP Hughes SP Nolasco SP Gibson SP May SP Pick One (Pino, Johnson, Gilmartin, Darnell, Deduno) RP Perkins RP Thielbar RP Duensing RP Swarzak RP Burton RP Tonkin RP Fien RP Deduno (If starting, Hermann will be up at catch) Meyer on Pitch limit will be unavailable until call ups at which point he will get a cup of coffee in the bull pen. Only trades will be Willingham, Correia, and Morales.
  24. IMHO the manager and pitching coach are on a shorter leash than ever before. The coaching staff was all reshuffled last year with Gardenhire saying if Anderson is gone he is gone. (Am I the only one that remembers that? I do not have a source to back me... Yet) Molitor was added to the staff. I would not be surprised to see Anderson "shuffled" after the all star break. I do not think the FO wants to do anything with the impending all star break at Target Field and Gardy one of the coaches but there may be a dust up after the All Star Game with trades and possibly coaching changes
  25. What about one of their "elite infield prospects"?
