  1. Come on Parms! ....well, that didn't take long to collapse.
  2. Another 75-foot single for Morneau. Maybe they'll start playing on the grass.
  3. If you think you're unhappy, just think about how Tony Oliva must feel about those comments.
  4. So the WhiteSox and Mariners were scoreless after 14 innings. The Sox scored 5 in the top of the 14th. The Mariners did the same. Now they are in the 15th inning. The Sox have used 8 pitchers, the Mariners are on their 7th.
  5. Holy crap, Parm can play some d.
  6. I kinda sorta think it isn't Walters' night tonight...
  7. Hey, who put the old Florimon out at short? I like the new Florimon better. Put him back.
  8. Thanks, that's how I saw it but not at all how I said it. Hosmer could have had him pretty easily.
  9. The KC broadcasters are talking about Guthrie getting squeezed by the ump, then when they show the pitch on Foxtrack it looks way outside. Is the Twins broadcast showing the same thing? These pitches they complain about (he's not getting the outside corner) look way outside to me.
  10. I'm watching the KC feed and they just showed a slow replay of that (non-technical) hit and run. The rightfielder absolutely was frozen until Escobar had rounded second base and the ball had bounced well into the outfield. Then he got the ball and threw a popup to the pitcher. If he had thrown the ball well into second I think they would have had the Hammer out.
  11. I think the rightfielder was staring at some girl in the stands or something. Willy got a double on a line drive to the right fielder, and Escobar scored from first. So if Morneau hits it out he should get 6 bases.
  12. No Twins or former Twins on the list that has been released so far.
  13. Thanks, I've actually spent a fair amount of time looking for news and couldn't find anything. Just thought you might have a better source.
  14. I'm just killing time until the draft. I often follow players who leave the Twins organization, just for interest rather than for any agenda involving my prior beliefs. Minor leaguers who get dropped seldom come back to haunt anyone, though I'm sure it happens to every team once in a while. I don't fault the organization for this, I don't have any axe to grind, but that doesn't mean someone has to quit existing because they've been waived.
  15. Any idea why Benson has missed the last 3 games?
  16. That's how I read this as well- Thomas will get in a few games and will need to impress quickly or he's off the 40-man. That's ok with me, if it's the right way to read the situation.
  17. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! The Deduno Express was rolling tonight.
  18. Well, the glass cracked a little in that inning, but I think the present is still intact.
  19. And one up, one on. Big inning coming up.
  20. All right, let's do this! Tonight, Kansas Citians will drown their sorrows as they leave the stadium shaking their heads at the awesome display of Twins Baseball that is about to hit them. Speaking of Matt Capps, Wilson Ramos is on the DL for the second time this year. I think he's played in something like 10 games so far. Poor guy.
  21. I move like a young Willie Mays too. Unfortunately, I move like he did when he was 3 years old. Very cool to read all this about Buxton. It definitely seems like what we would have been like in 1983 if we'd had the internet to check on Gaetti/Herbie/etc instead of the St. Paul Pioneer Press-Dispatch.
  22. I think Eddie Bane is a good example of what you risk when you draft a pitcher and have him starting in the majors a few weeks later. He was mishandled more than he was a bad draft pick, imo. You could also argue for some of the guys from early 1990s- they got some playing time in the majors, but only because the team was so bad.
  23. This has been my impression as well- Pelfrey and Corriea have both been left in games long enough to see things collapse. Whether that made sense at the time or not, I have not thought that refusing to extend pitchers was the problem. At this point I think Pelfrey's only role with the team is long relief, if that. He's a five-inning pitcher at best. Given that he only has a one-year contract, how long should the team continue letting him go six and build up his strength when the results tend to be brutal?
