  1. Apologizing for specific remarks, which is what actually happened in the opening post, isn't the same thing as changing your mind about a player. It's just acknowledging that someone had a good day. My expectation for Thomas hasn't changed, but I can still hope, and be happy when he's above expectation.
  2. My recollection was some number around a million dollars. That's all I got.
  3. Oh, come on, that's a quality start!!! Kind of like Frankenstein is alive, but still...
  4. Memo to Burton: get outs. Revere now has 4 hits tonight, which is about the same number he had in April. Just thinking out loud here, but I don't think Burton has his A stuff tonight.
  5. You meant to say two-run double, right?
  6. Anyone who says the Twins haven't improved their defense compared to last year just refuses to accept facts.
  7. Must be Charlie Manuel. I don't see how they managed to get that run across.
  8. Thanks, Coach! I'll pass it along to the team. Remember last night, when we scored 4 runs? Wasn't that fun? Shouldn't we do it again?
  9. We are totally winning this LOB contest. Not even close.
  10. OK, KC has thrown 112 pitches through five innings, and given up one run. Time for him to take a shower and go buy some lottery tickets. This reminds me of the time I was at the Dome in the early 80s, watching Rick Lysander throw an 11-hit complete game shutout. Total mastery...
  11. You told him the same thing last night. He has to start listening to you, or how's he going to improve? Look at the good work you've done with Cletus!
  12. Did I mention that I have completely soured on Escobar? That isn't changing so far tonight.
  13. Delmon Young, Twins Secret Weapon.
  14. I don't blame Correia for walking Brown to get to Young, but that ball 4 sure looked like strike 2 to me.
  15. At least an outfielder with a little speed who doesn't have his back to the wall catches that ball. Parmelee, for instance.
  16. Beets, bears, and Battlestar Galactica.
  17. Well, folks, I'm afraid that Doumit is turning back into Doumit after spending ten days being the Dohminator.
  18. Yeah, or if I said he'd delivered a baby from the 102-yr-old birthday girl in the stands. But I'm just reporting from the future. You think I'm making this up?
  19. Thomas has been totally gobierno throughout both halves of the fifth inning. Two great catches, a double and a single, and he delivered a baby while Morneau was batting. Just...gobierno.
  20. Hey Chitown, I hope your feed has caught up. This bottom of the fifth inning is incredible.
  21. Stammering...not sure how to respond...hoping for an administrative ban....gobierno.
  22. And, Lady and Gentlemen, there's tonight's code word: Gobierno!!!
  23. It's a nice summer evening, watching the pennant races isn't happening yet, no hockey tonight, basketball is played by automatons- why not cheer for Clete? If I had to bet, I'd choose "pumpkin at the stroke of midnight", but I'd rather hope he becomes a good major leaguer for the Twins. I'd rather he became Dominic Brown, though.
  24. Doumit has a really cute pony on his farm, too.
