  1. The question is, will we need it before the All-Star break? Sigh.
  2. Wait, you can't go now!!! Parmelee's batting!!!! ...never mind.
  3. The two-run double, however, was hit with authority.
  4. Gibson walked the bases loaded, with a wild pitch tossed in, then gave up a soft liner to center for two runs. The good news is he missed the zone low, rather than missing the corners and throwing it down the middle as we've been seeing far too often.
  5. I'm pretty sure that puns fall well short of the Holocaust in terms of outrages against humanity.
  6. Beetles are crunchy without requiring major straining. Plus they fit in a smaller pot.
  7. Yeah, Dick said he thought the Twins might get a call on batter's interference if the runner were safe. Didn't look like the home plate ump called it right away, though I don't know if they make that call immediately.
  8. Strike 'em out, throw 'em out DP.
  9. Florimon with a solid line drive, but the Rays have been positioned very well in the first two innings.
  10. Lots of pictures on the theme Gibson so far. Oh wait, you get those. Hard-hit balls by the Twins in the first, routine grounders by the Rays.
  11. My daughter was planning her birthday party, perhaps 9 years old (and 9 years ago). She had all these ideas for subjective games, like "best dancer", that I was supposed to judge. She told me "and you have to pick someone who wins. None of this 'you're all winners' stuff."
  12. Dear Twins, I would really like a win tonight. I'm starting to feel kind of discouraged, to be honest. A nice, clean game would be good too. I know that rookies make mistakes, our rotation isn't too solid, the bullpen's struggling, the hitters are pressing- that's all part of baseball. But it's nice to have a good win here and there, and tonight would be really good. Thank you for doing your best. Sincerely, Twins fan since Blyleven was a rookie and Harmon was hitting his 500th home run.
  13. Hicks with the 360 catch! Should have put a dunk on the end of it.
  14. I've said this before, but I'll say it again: I badly overrated Escobar based on the first few weeks of the season.
  15. Suzi: Sorry, were you a baseball player or something?
  16. Go for it. No video postings please.
  17. I thought Bernie Allen might have been a contender, but his top was 12.
  18. Pelfrey- 5 nice innings plus the 1st. Now Thielbar. Let's hold 'em.
  19. Hey Gardner, Hicks would have caught that ball!!!
  20. Ah, but I waited until the end of the sixth inning! And I spent the last two years building up an immunity to iocane powder.
  21. Hey, it's the sixth inning. Diamond Time!!! -- ok, the Reverse Jinx thing worked. I'm now 1 for 8.
  22. I wasn't arguing to hit him (and now remembering Diamond's weak effort it's an even worse idea), but let's move some guys off the plate once in a while.
