  1. Some day Chief will look back, shake his head, and say "I can't believe I said Thomas was just a replacement-level ball player with no future." Maybe.
  2. A third baseman over 5' 5" would have caught that one.
  3. I'm late to the party, but it appears that you have typed "its" when you should have said "it". Looks like a mistake.
  4. Agreed. That would be an excellent outcome. Gibson's stats are certainly very good, but he has had a couple of pretty clunky starts amidst a good batch. Not arguing he shouldn't be brought up, just saying that consistency and good stats aren't the same thing if you get good stats from a mix of phenomenal games and mediocre games. I do like the point about competition- the pitchers might be bearing down harder knowing someone's got to go and they each want it to be someone else. Can Gibson hit? Maybe we could start him off June 25 at the Marlins and try and improve the run support at the same time.
  5. They let Hardy go because they thought they had this wonder at short named Nishioka, correct? That's how I recall it, anyway. Oops. I'm not as big a fan of Hardy as many on the board, but he's certainly a good major league shortstop and we could have used one of those the last few years.

  7. Congratulations to Clete on an outstanding game! I hope he has a good one tonight as well.
  8. That's two late wins in a row. Nice job, boys. Game balls to Arcia, Thomas, and...Pelfrey.
  9. Wait, that was Escobar getting doubled off second, right? Kind of an up and down night for him.
  10. And the pinchhitter comes through! Sort of.
  11. I liked that, but I don't believe it. I just like it.
  12. Her mind concentrates on larger, um, issues.
  13. And you would have worn through all your pants.
  14. Clete's having himself a night. Arcia's just having a regular night. Or at least that's what I hope.
  15. Did you write the other Cialis ads as well?
  16. I've been banned by the moderators for excessive hubris. See everybody in 5 minutes.
  17. Or it's telekinesis working against me.
  18. Time for a Hammer Popup (shhh, it's the reverse jinx trick).
  19. Freud would be too hacked off about LOB to even think about the Naked Dude stuff.
  20. One of the houses at my college used to advertise parties featuring strip-and-go-naked punch. Sounds like you guys might have gone to the same school.
  21. How do you know that's his number, Chief?
  22. Thank you, Mr. Pelfrey. I am officially happy. For now.
  23. That was awesome, how we scored 9 runs in the bottom of the 6th after two outs. Oops, sorry Chi-town.
