    Moderator Gate 2015 will seem like nothing compared to the turmoil that is about to be unleashed by an upcoming Reusse article where he reveals the moderators are entering the season not in their peak physical (or mental) condition and collectively only lost a half a pound.

    I think Ruesse knows a lot of about baseball and obviously has a lot of inside contacts, but I also wonder if he is at the point where he is talking to the same people and people who say what he wants to hear making it not the most objective stuff out there (although as a columnist he does not really need to be completely objective). I think he is kind of coasting that this point and might be looking for input that go with the narrative he wants to write. I am not sure he is doing a lot of extra digging at this stage of the game. I used to really think this about Souhan when heard him on the radio. He would talk about what he had heard, and I would not be surprised if he was not a favorite of a lot of people in the club house, so I would wonder how well rounded were his sources. Is it largely people who tend to lean to be cynical and sarcastic?

    I agree about the spring training stats not meaning a heck of a lot (or even a good chunk of April's stats), but at this point of the year, I am going to be optimistic even if it is not based on a lot. I did hear Reusse get asked about how he thought he looked, and he did say it did look like he was hitting the ball more solidly than last year.

    Brian brought them back from the UP. It will be interesting to see how their introduction will change the state.

    The world never really seemed quite right with you living in Michigan. I have heard the state is planning this in honor of your return. I think by then the Twins will have clinched the central, so there will be extra celebrations.

    How are you still able to type with all you have had to drink tonight?

    I suppose they will wait 5 or days to put him on the DL (if this were the season), when they could have put him there right away and not played short handed. I could have told them losing a liver should be more than day to day.

    I believe this is something that even Bernie, Trump and Hilary supporters all agree upon.

    He acquired a taste for them when he worked for the Pharaoh.

    He also has a lot of great teammates. I know there are valid criticisms out there, but his cliche addiction aside, he does seem like a decent guy.

    I think the fact that he did not wear them today was a bit weather related. I heard on the radio and read on a post here, it was not really bright and sunny. I understand why some people want to criticize Mauer, but not wearing sunglasses on days where the sun is not bothering him, is probably not one of them.

    Much of this thread seems to be discussing the game. The game thread is definitely not at mid-season form. and no mention of chicken dinner.... a lot of off season rust...

    I am going to choose to believe that this post is a lie, that your real name is Vance, that you grew up in CA, and you are scheduled to be the next celebrity host at Winter Meltdown 2017. Next thing you will know someone will be saying Chief's real first (and last?) name is not Methuselah.

    There is always a chance that in a few years they will bring him back as a veteran club house presence -- so there might still be some good times down the road.

    We survived the loss of Rick Anderson and were still able to find scapegoats. I am pretty confident we will not have a scapegoat free season.

    Good point - - they were so detailed and authentic with the early 50's clothes and hair styles you really felt you were in 1953 Korea. Maybe he speaks with a Winchester Bostonian accent. One of the radio guys (Derek Whetmore?) was saying that he is under the impression that he has a fairly good understanding of English.

    This thread really makes me feel like the baseball season is almost here - it has a very game thread quality in its logic and linearity.
