  1. I have always suspected Nick Punto.
  2. Hopefully the new GM will realize that there are a few holes in the pitching staff that need to be addressed.
  3. so is it safe to say the concrete has settled?
  4. Hopefully they won't try to draft Rodan. They have not had the greatest luck with the Asian players. Although he probably would add a bit of attitude to the club house.
  5. Chief, how do creatures such as Rodan and other dinosaurs we see today in the movies compare to the ones you saw in real life when you were growing up?
  6. or Christian Ponder ... the possibilities are endless. Might be time to order the play-off tickets.
  7. What is with the four straws? We know you did not share any of that.
  8. I read the first page, and am saving the rest for the holiday weekend. I am really looking forward to it.
  9. You cannot completely blame him - the thread was at about ten pages by about 9 am. Kind of cool people are still so excited to talk about the Twins and their performance and play on the field, that the thread would generate that much traffic this late in the season. Especially when making the play-offs is not a sure thing this year.
  10. If we miss the play-offs by one game, we know who to blame.
  11. The game threads would be in trouble if one could not say this.
  12. Do you know if they can do that with specific memories, like maybe 5 out of the last 6 baseball seasons? If they could only erase the current one, I could live with that.
  13. Did she say she would not kiss you unless you removed your chew?
  14. None of them are Chief - he was wary of flight experiments by then. When he was in school, one of his friends had a deadly flight. His peer made some wings out of feather and wax, and after a good start flew too close to the sun. He is still haunted by it after all these many, many years.
  15. Has anyone seen Chief and this guy at the same time, because I am beginning to wonder if this person is posting with the Chief avatar (and would explain why Chief does not care for TC Bear).
  16. This is the board that had a detailed discussion on Oregon Trail and tells jokes that Bob Hope probably used in his WWII tours. I am not sure everyone is going to understand what an "Apple ap" is.
  17. So you are saying in five years we will be celebrating big time?
  18. I just thought of IRAC for the first time in years and the hairy hand case. If I have a finals dream tonight you are to blame.
  19. I wonder if the Fox Sports North people will have this discussion on tonight's broadcast...
  20. If he is not fired, I wonder if he will choose to resign when the season is over. He is close to 60, he has a young child, and for years he was reluctant to get fully back in the game because of the schedule, traveling etc. I am guessing part of him would like to stay to prove he can right the ship, but there has to be part of him saying - this is not worth it.
  21. Baseball is unpredictable sometimes. Who would have thought the bullpen had issues that needed to be addressed this season? Some things you cannot plan or anticipate or address..
  22. I predict low fair attendance this weekend, because so many people will be home so they can properly follow the annual Whine Line Game Thread Weekend. Hopefully the Twins will step it up and be worthy to be part of these much anticipated threads. And for the fair - Twins on a Stick. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kVcargIdtkQ/SpsKaFgYe8I/AAAAAAAABNU/sCnNbmp2hLE/s400/twins2.JPG
  23. He just needs a good meal like 1980's cafeteria pizza and he will be touching 100 regularly. . http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UtMBepj-m1U/TvEjvN6h2mI/AAAAAAAAB94/R-8dZXf-f4Y/w1200-h630-p-nu/square_cafeteria_pizza.jpg
  24. We went off of the Arrowhead trail north of Grand Marais last weekend, so not exactly where I grew up, but still God's country. I actually grew up in a town called Babbitt about 20 miles from Ely, but I usually say the Ely area, because people are much less likely to have heard of Babbitt unless they are big fans of taconite mining of the 1970s. Funny - Ely and Babbitt were much closer than a lot of suburbs in the Cities, but if we wanted to call my grandparents in Ely, it was long distance and so was Embarrass, which was only separated from Babbitt by a dirt road.
  25. I could kind of see you taking a dare to drive your car on a frozen lake in mid to late April.
