  1. I am fairly confident if he was a member of the TwinsDaily webpage, one of the moderators would have responded and taken action about his ability to comment by now.
  2. Hasn't it also been reported that he himself is using an unsecured android phone for his tweets?
  3. Is it too much to ask Teddy Roosevelt to come back with his big stick and haunt him? Do you think Trump realized comparing oneself to Andrew Jackson might not be all positive, esp. when he is issuing orders that have Native American issues? I am not sure what would be worse, Trump having such a superficial knowledge of history that he is not familiar with Andrew Jackson's well-known dark side, or embracing him because of it.
  4. Somehow I doubt you will have to wait long. I was not overly optimistic about this administration, but I did not think government or park employees would need to go rouge to get out information in less than a week into the administration into order to get scientific facts out to the public. I guess the sales for 1984 have really spiked this week.
  5. I know I have a harder time with the game threads when the games are on the west coast (unless it is a really stellar game thread), so I think it is definitely a factor. It probably does not help when the arrive at the destination city in the early morning hours, having even less time to adjust or get some quality sleep.
  6. We will be glad about this when he wins World Series MVP when we crush the Cubs next fall.
  7. The EPA freeze and forced media black-out and gag order is a little disturbing. He really does seem to be modeling himself after cartoon villains from a 1980's cartoons.
  8. These were people who were in the room when he signed that order. You know if they could they would find away to abolish the 19th amendment. http://i2.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article9680192.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS109914330.jpg
  9. Luckily Betsy DeVos is just the person to make education great again. http://www.snopes.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/betsy-devos.jpg
  10. Yes - they really need to regain at least one of the houses. Can you imagine if more democrats would have voted in 2010, and Obama would have had a Democratic congress for awhile longer? The GOP is much better at showing up for the mid-term elections, and that allowed them to control a lot of the narrative even when there was a Democratic president. There also needs to be more focus on trying to regain some of the state governments. People don't pay as much attention to the state and local elections, and a lot of damage is done at the level.
  11. He just spoke to the CIA, standing in front of the memorial wall, and makes the speech all about him. How great he is (been on the cover of Time more than Brady), ranting about the fake media (they misrepresented the crowds yesterday), saying the rain never came (although it did) because God was looking down on them. I am guessing the crowds today really bother him. He does not always take what he views as criticism well.
  12. I think he will be somewhat similar to last year, but maybe with fewer of the dips if he is rested more. I could never understand why they did not DL him in August when it was clear something was wrong and a few days rests were not helping, if I remember correctly we were not in play-off contention, and there were plenty of players that could have used a closer look. I think Molitor later admitted that he made a mistake not DLing right away. Historically, I think they have been over-sensitive to the "he is soft" criticism that there have been times they have overplayed him to both his and the team's detriment. It sounds like that will not be the case this year.
  13. If you look more closely, you will see more compassion and empathy reflected in the shark's eyes. http://images.earthtouchnews.com/media/1946750/shark-page-2016-10-4.jpg?mode=crop&width=1060&height=707
  14. Which leaves us with Pence and his soulless eyes... I am guessing he is taking the weekend off in part so he can pretend the planned post-inauguration are not happening. He does not like things to disturb his perception of reality.
  15. It is disturbing how he has to go after anyone who criticizes him, and goes out of his way to get down and dirty and make his response personal often in a way that is not relevant to the argument. I am not a big fan of the current state of the media, but it is also disturbing how he is doing his best to delegitimatize them. Now anything that he does not like is "fake news". Perhaps a bit hypocritical for the King of the Birthers and someone with strong Breitbart ties to act so outraged and sanctimonious in this fashion. Not to mention he just cite OANN in his latest tweet. I noticed he is posted in all-caps more and more. I think he is getting more and more rattled by everything that is happening.
  16. If there is any credence to his activities with Russian ladies of the evening, this will not be the most dignified chapter of American political history. I wonder if he will still do his press conference tomorrow and if KellyAnne is in front of a mirror practicing her "ignore what he said or did -- look into his heart - and I am going to keep saying black is white and we have always been at war with East Asia" face.
  17. I think he is saying "Quit comparing me to Trump!" http://animalia-life.club/data_images/mule/mule6.jpg
  18. Is the lower pic the annual Twins Daily moderator holiday party? [sadly would probably be better if the people in the lower pic were in charge.]
  19. It takes a lot of skill to craft a response in 145 characters. You really have to know how to get to the heart of the matter. President Obama had it much easier by being able to ramble for 56 pages. Plus I bet he did not have any one word statements followed by exclamation point to really bring the point across. Sad! [Do you think he has even spent time reading 56 pages in preparation for the job? I would have to think there is some sort of learning curve he should be trying to handle.]
  20. It bothers me a little (or maybe a lot) of how the media initially fashioned their headlines to credit Trump's tweet for Congress backtracking on gutting the ethics committee, even though it was reported that it was 1000s of calls from the public that made them reconsider. Similar to a number of the job announcements when it is later revealed he had nothing to do with the various company decisions. The media is still largely treating him with kid gloves. He will say something -- they will report whatever he is taking credit for as fact when by now they should know his definition of the truth is a little broad and not always reliable. Later they might have a second page story clarifying how Trump's statement was misleading (reluctant to actually call him a liar). When all is said in down, his initial statement of how he cured cancer or engineered the Cubs victory is what people remember and the tepid clarification is missed by a large portion of the population.
  21. Really - how hard could it be to read every post on this thread? Plus, you never know the important information you might miss if you skip a post.
  22. I knew something was not quite right when I was typing that. Thanks for catching that - this thread does have a high standard to maintain. I wonder who would be the Nurse Ratchet of TD? I don't think it would be too difficult to find people who could be inmates.
  23. Just a few more then I will stop. I don't want to burden this thread by beating a dead horse, getting too far off topic, or meaningless posts, but I thought these were appropriate. Thread in the Outfield Field of Threads Bull Thread Major Thread II
  24. From Thread to Eternity A Thread too Far A Thread Flew Through the Cuckoo's Nest [Apologies if these have been used] Hopefully there won't be a slow down of substantive news on this thread because it is Sunday.
  25. If you want to end up hospitalized just do a twitter search for "Trump" and see the responses of his hard core supporters. They are rationalizing any of the Russian interference as a positive thing because it got Trump elected, and Putin will be a great friend because he is a strong man who get things done. Funny how the GOP who used the red scare for decades in their campaigning, now just turn a blind eye when it suits their need. Party before country. I might just go into denial and avoid reality for awhile and spend my time in the Brian Dozier thread.
