  1. I have read a few articles that say that the facts do not really back this up, and Trump has not offered any proof. I should probably give Trump the benefit of the doubt and assume the articles I read were fake news. I am still annoyed he is treating his SCT pic like it is the finale of the Apprentice -- bringing two candidates to DC to build suspense, waiting until prime time etc... I wonder if he will release the two candidates into some sort of bio dome with a bunch of traps and have the last one breathing be his pick.
  2. I heard someone commenting about this on the radio - they are messing up managing things they had complete control over, how are they going to handle something unexpected. I was camping on the Arrowhead trail last summer, and one of the portages crossed over into Canada. I am thinking of returning. Growing up we used to get reception for a Thunder Bay station, so I think I am in tune with the Canadian culture. I figure I better act now before your people start building a wall along our border.
  3. It is a distressing image. http://handbill.us/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Trump-and-Putin.png
  4. They could not even be gracious when called on it, but were huffy and defensive instead of taking the opportunity to specifically acknowledge what happened to the Jews at that point, instead saying " 'nitpicking' of the Friday statement is 'just ridiculous.' ". And this was also the day, Holocaust Memorial Day, they chose to announce the refuge ban. So many layers of %^&% with this administration in almost everything they do.
  5. Yes - technically the AG firing was not an overreach, but was thinking more of the totality of his actions, including removing the ICE director without a reason, his various gag orders on agencies and trying to control the information they put out, telling the state department not to talk to congress, not vetting his EOs with the pertinent agencies, writing his EO's with just his inner circle, the elevation of Bannon, insisting everything is going well when there are massive protests, his extreme and often petty reaction to any dissent, his spokespeople not even attempting to telll a version of the truth, the elevation of his son-in-law and probably behind the scenes his kids, not truly divesting from his business etc.
  6. Nope. I am ok with him breaking Harrison's record for shortest Presidential term.
  7. He has had a busy night - first the acting AG and now the director of ICE. I Interesting choice of words saying he there was "betrayal" when firing the AG. No overreach of power here. .http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-replaces-acting-director-immigration-enforcement-n714491?cid=sm_tw_nbcnews Semi-related -- what kind of leader teases his SCT pick as a prime time ratings event?
  8. He probably has a limited data plan, and he needed to get out the tweet mocking Schumer for crying. He has to prioritize and get the important stuff out there. (I see he just sent out a self-congratulatory tweet about his small business summit. He is probably taking to time to craft something sincere and thoughtful and will be tweeting that shortly.)
  9. Whenever I want to feel like I have hit my head against a wall of broken glass -- I will look at random responses in the twitter world, and often see comments about "of course libtards can protest they don't have jobs" or "a libtard could never afford that - they are all on food stamps". I am feeling like I am becoming less of a humane person though - because I do not feel sorry for KellyAnn even though she said ""If you are part of team Trump, you walk around with these gaping, seeping wounds every day." She is sacrificing so much for the country and yet I feel no sympathy for her. Perhaps five time draft deferee Trump can give her the purple heart he took from a veteran. At least Spicer is on the ball, using the Quebec shooting to bolster the argument of Trump's immigration ban, because it would have kept out that white Canadian who liked Trump and Le Pen on facebook. The country is in good hands.
  10. I love this from the comments section of the above article (nice to bring some baseball into this thread): Hayes Davenport @hayesdavenport everybody out protesting today had a higher WAR than you did in 2001, 2009, 2011, and 2012. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1213&position=1B … https://twitter.com/aubrey_huff/status/825889581027385344 … 9:47 PM - 29 Jan 2017
  11. I saw this at a check-out line yesterday trying to make them look all fun loving and adorable, and I thought I was going to self-combust. One of my fears is that the spawn are going to be around causing damage for years. .[i deleted the image of the US magazine cover that I originally attached - because it was just to vile of a thing to make people have to see and scroll by].
  12. His compassion is amazing. Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 24m24 minutes ago protesters and the tears of Senator Schumer. Secretary Kelly said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN! Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 28m28 minutes ago Only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning. Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage,.....
  13. WTF - Donald Trump Shuffles National Security Council. Executive measure adds Steve Bannon while removing Director of National Intelligence, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. http://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-signs-order-to-revamp-national-security-council-1485641329?mod=e2tw I have no comment at this point but WTF.
  14. The interview was on Reusse and Judd's Saturday morning show on 1500. They had interviews until 12:30, and yes, that one was not exactly enlightening. Overall, though I enjoyed hearing the players talk. The interviews are on the webpage, as well as the ones they did yesterday on Phil and Judd's show and Ruesse's normal weekday show. http://www.1500espn.com/shows/saturday-sportstalk/# I flipped to 96.3 to see if they were covering it at all, but they had their normal music. I thought they had a presence their in the past, so I thought that was interesting, but I might have just missed when they were broadcasting.
  15. If Rob Ford had ever become PM, even he would probably have better tweets and policies and bring more dignity to his office than the person in the White House right now. .http://storage.torontosun.com/v1/dynamic_resize/sws_path/suns-prod-images/1297713760634_ORIGINAL.jpg?quality=80&size=420x
  16. I think they are reaping what they sowed, and are not really doing what they need to do to persuade people that they are not fake. The media has shown bias or manipulated stories to create ratings rather than present the facts so there is enough truth in Trump's criticism of the media that it is going to stick. Journalistic integrity or lack of substance has deteriorated enough, so that Trump has a tool to try and suppress any criticism or negative story about him while he elevates "news" sources that are basically propaganda tools of his party. He can lie or do something horrible and any report of his actions is going to be doubted by enough people that it will be more difficult for the story to take off and receive any lasting impact. The news media has been in sad shape for awhile, but the added element of Trump using people's lack of trust in them to help create his own version of the truth is a bit chilling. [Regardless of how much to blame the media itself is for this mess, I still find it greatly disturbing that the President of the United States is attacking them or any voice that says something he does not like.]
  17. I saw some video of him with Theresa May and at the swearing in ceremony yesterday. He cannot take his eyes off of his notes for a minute and just recites what is before him as if he does not really understand what he is reading and that it was written for him. When he does go off script, it is some third grade level quip. I am sure this is a coincidence, but the ban did not include countries where he does business. This includes Saudi Arabia, which had many of the 9-11 terrorists, even though in his statement he specifically mentioned 9-11. He attacked the NYT and Wahsington Post this morning. I am not exactly thrilled about the state of the news media right now, but more people need to call him out on his campaign to delegitimize the news. It is not like he is subtle about it - praising Fox News and tweeting Breitbart and attacking anyone who criticizes him. He does not even try to be honest, talking about declining subscriptions when the NYT has seen a surge since he was elected. My niece is studying abroad in Spain. I wonder what kind of reaction and coverage she is seeing of this circus over there. His whole administration is just fear and hate. And then Pence -- "life is winning again" -- as we threaten health care, gut environmental protection, and deal with a complicated refugee situation with really broad black and white strokes.....
  18. His statement for International Holocaust Day - on surface seems normal, but the statement normally gives special acknowledgment to a group that was especially victimized by this and makes one wonder if Bannon might have drafted it. This is also the day he chose to sign his EO banning refugees. https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/01/27/statement-president-international-holocaust-remembrance-day
  19. I was listening and am very bitter. Damn you Falvey -- taking Seth's air time is not a good way to start.
  20. Listening to Seth Stohs on Ruese right now. Damn -- now Falvey might be taking away some of Seth's air time. Damn you Falvey - we want Seth!
  21. Sid Hartman was at the media luncheon. I don't always care for Sid or what he has to say, but he is going to outlive us all. He is one tough b^&%$%#.
  22. I saw a few comments about the timing of the announcement of the Flint water meeting Federal standards coming when the EPA was under a gag order to release any comments. Their definition of being pro-life does not seem to extend to outside the uterus. It is stunning how Bannon can just lurk there and his background doing his thing, and his beliefs are rarely brought up or brought up in the most superficial fashion.
  23. I saw him being interviewed on the plane yesterday. Something about the content of his answers and look on his face reminded me of my Grandpa during his earlier stages of dementia. I know this has been speculated a fair amount so this is no new revelation, but it would not surprise me if he is in some stage of dementia or Alzheimer. It would explain why family members were always with him. I have heard narcissism often gets greatly exacerbated with age related memory issues, and this man seems to have some issues.
  24. Remember the good old days when the main reasoin you needed to stock up on alcohol was to make it through the Twins season?
  25. But I am guessing they might question the credibility of Bannon's, recently saying the media "among the most dishonest people on earth.”, and say -- wasn't he part of Brietbart, a "news" organization that arguably is not completely objective, perhaps he is being a bit hypocritical.
