  1. On the latest N. Korea launching. I am not sure we have the best team in place to deal with this. A bit scary. Department of State‏Verified account @StateDept 1h1 hour ago Secretary Tillerson: The United States has spoken enough about North Korea. We have no further comment. https://go.usa.gov/xXnXN
  2. Sadly - I thought this was real. Even more sad, is that it is not inconceivable that he would tweet this. I did notice he retweeted Drudge. For someone who tweets about fake news so much, he does not seem to have a problem citing "news" that is biased towards him. I wonder if his hard core supporters ever sit and ponder that.
  3. This is just so classless, even if he does feel the previous administration handled things badly, this was not the time or place to instantly politicize it. WASHINGTON, April 4 (Reuters) - The White House on Tuesday blamed a deadly chemical weapons attack in Syria's Idlib province on the government of President Bashar al-Assad and said the incident was "reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world." "These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the last administration's weakness and irresolution," White House spokesman Sean Spicer told a briefing. "President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a 'red line' against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing." Images of the attack in Syria
  4. You did just turn a year older. Memory is one of the first things to go. It will be interesting to see how your mental facilities will have gone down by next opening day.
  5. I have to admit - this might seem greedy - but I would love not to start 0-9 this year.
  6. There has been talk for years the Twins need to do more for the Spanish speaking players. It is nice to see that the game thread is trying to do the same thing for Spanish reading posters.
  7. Luckily for us Jeff Belzner knows star-quality and great acting ability when he sees it.
  8. He is like Cher or Lassie or Urkel - he is famous enough to only go by one name.
  9. Did you notice the post that said it was Mike's birthday?
  10. So you are saying they probably made the right decision in ending the Sano as outfielder experiment? That seems like a bit unreal now - like something a bit crazy that could only happen in a fever dream but never really happened.
  11. Can anyone confirm if Sano mouthed "I dedicate this moonshot to Mike's birthday" as he ran around the bases?
  12. Mike - this was just lying around the internet.
  13. Must be kind of a bummer to have it so close to a national holiday (Bert's Birthday). It probably gets lost in the festivities of that great American tradition that will be celebrated in a few days. (Ah - I see someone already mentioned Bert's Day - hard to escape such a big event).
  14. I am pretty sure Ms. Piggy would consider herself at least a queen or possibly empress. Damn - too busy at work today -- and this thread is moving. I am afraid I am going to miss some really well thought-out and rational posts by not being able to read everything.
  15. Jared is now in Iraq assessing the mid-east situation. I am sure he is the most qualified person to do this -- although I would feel better if Ivanka was there as well. Hypothetical question, if Chelsea and her husband were filling similar roles if Hilary had been elected, do you think every head on Fox News would be exploding?
  16. or possibly 2 AAA squads.
  17. Did he recognize you? It is possible he he follows Whine Line.
  18. I just realized I have no recollection of where the polar bear came from, or what the point was of Claire's baby, or if WALT! ever showed up again, or what the point of the Island was, and is that also where the Minnow crashed? The show did have some fun moments though if you don't think too hard.
  19. So we won't see you until the second season when they briefly focus on the people in the second half of the plane. If you see a polar bear, I think you are supposed to pretend to be dead.
  20. I would love if somehow Ryan and his smug-evil mug was involved enough and/or knew enough to go down if this all comes to fruition. There are so many bad characters in power right now that is mind-boggling. In honor of opening day.
  21. I cannot imagine there is any real loyalty among anyone in the inner circle. If there really is fire behind the smoke and things do break wide open, I don't think any of them would think twice about stabbing each other in the back to save their own hides. They make the later Roman emperors and their families seem grounded, rational, and functional.
  22. I am waiting for great anticipation for the announcement Trump ties are moving their factories back to the U.S.
  23. The article below is not new behavior for him, but it really bugs me when he takes credit for things that did not involve him. He has no shame and no shame and no sense of decency, and the fact that this was pretty obvious before the election and people still voted for him is disheartening. I will rant about how he sells out the environment to please his pet industries with no regard for long term effects in some other post. http://www.nbcnews.com/business/autos/trump-flaunts-ford-s-1-2b-investment-ford-says-it-n739476 Ford will invest $1.2 billion in three Michigan facilities, a move signaled overnight through a tweet from President Donald Trump — though Ford had originally planned to make the official announcement itself at a Tuesday meeting with Michigan officials. While Trump was quick to take credit for the investment, the plan is "consistent with what we announced previously," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's President of the Americas, told NBC News, noting that all three projects were in the works well before Trump took office — the largest, involving an $850 million assembly plant investment, approved as part of a deal with the United Auto Workers Union in 2015.
  24. I just assumed you were joking -- but he actually did this. He still manages to surprise me from time to time. I am waiting for his sharp rebuke to Russia for the mass arrest of protesters.
  25. Someone sent this - looks like you guys are having fun: http://throughthefencebaseball.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Old-Folks-Baseball.jpg
