  1. Violet is the dog -- the other one was a cat who she spent half the weekend looking for under the cabin.
  2. It is the Fourth of July weekend - that is when Hollywood traditionally releases the big special effects disaster movies... Gibsobgedon. [Although maybe it will go well and the bullpen probably needs as much rest as they can get].
  3. He and Provuous are a good team-up. And while I have grown to like Dan, I don't always mind when he sometimes disappears for a few innings.
  4. It is stuff like this that makes me a little nervous for any future election and its results. They are going to continue to work at making it difficult for certain people to vote. http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article158871959.html I wish I could say Trump did not reveal his true colors during the campaign, but people actually voted for someone who clearly showed the emotional maturity of a pre-schooler who has 666 behind his ear.
  5. Please tell me someone on this board did not eat Big Bird. That would never be acceptable (OK - maybe for game 7 of the World Series).
  6. Sessions’s testimony highlights Trump’s deep lack of interest in what Russia did in 2016. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2017/06/13/sessionss-testimony-highlights-trumps-deep-lack-of-interest-in-what-russia-did-in-2016/?utm_term=.07d1ed4d1ecc
  7. I saw a tweet about that and meant to check to see if it was real. There is so much weirdness (in a not good way) happening right now, I read things and have no idea what is real and what is not. Things that would have been too outrageous for the Onion at one point are now happening. I also wanted to say I feel lucky and blessed to be able to read Twins Daily. You truly are the best website in the world, and your knowledge as well as your writing and web design are making the internet great again. you are incredible.
  8. I believe it has been said he is old even in a geological or archaeological context. I believe the same thing has been said about his jokes.
  9. From today's cabinet meeting. Everyone had to go around the table and say something ala The Apprentice. A lot of genuflecting happening. I imagine the annual TD board meeting is similar to this.
  10. I only heard bits and pieces of it, so cannot give an accurate assessment, but from what I have heard I am not sure how his supporters are saying he has been completely cleared. I could see how they would think impeachment is not a given, but I thought there were still enough questions raised that Trump is not exactly off the hook yet. He really could shoot someone, and they would rationalize it. Paul Ryan on saying he is new to this, and did not know the protocol and what might be perceived as obstructing justice is such a crock. He might be the biggest weasel out there. One of the main reasons Trump needs to go down, is that he needs to take his family with him. Don Jr. and Eric have been way to visible this week. They share their father's combination of arrogance, ignorance, greed, and petty vindictiveness.
  11. PBS is doing a best of Ken Burns special tonight and showing clips of past documentaries. They just showed a blurb of Obama and Michele talking about Jackie Robinson. They spoke in complete, sentences, seemed to give some thought to what they were saying, and did not somehow work their comments around to claim credit for Jackie's success. The Obama Presidency seems so long ago... [if you haven't seen it, the Ken Burns Jackie Robinson documentary was well done, which I guess is probably a given.]
  12. I noticed he tweeted about a terrorist incident in Melbourne that killed one person and injured three cops. I must have scrolled too quickly, because I somehow missed his comment on yesterday's workplace shooting in FL. I am not minimizing the seriousness and tragedy of a terror attack, but if Trump cannot use something to his advantage, he does not give a damn.
  13. I would think there are some old school, pre-tea party Republicans who have a 5 x 7 framed picture of Reagan on their desk who are secretly disgusted at his boorish behavior and his using the office for personal gain for his businesses and shocked at the possible ties to Russia, the country they grew up thinking of as the big bad enemy. It would have been nice if more of them would have had a decency threshold to speak up than they have at this point.... Every once in awhile Lindsey and McCain looked like they were going to have a spine, but quickly showed they were mostly talk and not willing to break the party line. Not that I feel sorry for any of these people, but can you imagine what a nightmare it is to work with him at this point. This is a bit judgmental, but nice when he was so concerned about his son's trauma and what is going on in Britain, that he found time to go golfing at his resort both weekend days. Maybe he felt Peyton would be able to help him with the developing situation with Qatar. I am feeling really good about having an arms deal with the Saudis at this point as well.
  14. At least we will know how to blame if we lose...
  15. You can't have historic relief melt-downs every inning - that would get boring.
  16. Plus didn't he go to school with Chief? He is not a youngster anymore.
  17. Being wrong for the first time is the hardest - the next time you are wrong in a few years or decades will be easier.
  18. They should have worked some of that into their Kemps commercials - they would probably sill be playing.
  19. Some profound baseball analysis here - but can you imagine how it would help the team if alight bulb went off in Gibson's head and he started consistently playing to his potential? (I am sure no one has ever thought of that)
  20. It was a golden age that is now lost in time - kind of like Camelot. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mcCHjhw_bz4/U6MIEcLEsqI/AAAAAAAASYY/E7jtWnftxkQ/s1600/1aaaaaaaaaaabattle1.jpg
  21. He did a bunch of retweets of all the GOP toady's who thought withdrawing from the Paris accord was a great idea. He is so insecure and needy for praise. He is like the spoiled child who puts his hands over his ears to anything that does not fit his view, but instead damaging a wall by writing on it with crayon in a childish temper tantrum, he is damaging things globally for a long time. I just heard when he was in Europe, they tried to explain the accord to him in simple terms, but he did not understand it. Not that this has not been said 1000 times, but has there ever been anyone who was so mentally and emotionally unqualified for this job?
  22. I know - I have spent the last 24 hours downing one cup of Covfefe after another, but that is not really productive. It does not help that the majority party is trying to see how long they can turn a blind eye because they want to get their agenda passed.
  23. It must have been something very specific then - it was defense related, but maybe for a very specific part of the defense.
