  1. Yeah this Wolves team isn't even close yet. They just got blown out by the awful Hornets. With zero desire to play any defense, their ceiling is good, but not great.
  2. Thielen is a legit star WR. What a story, and what a find for the Vikings.
  3. Nobody within 20 yards of Thielen. All Keenum has to do is hit him in stride and it's a TD. Instead we get zero points. Awful throw.
  4. Wow, what an awful challenge. What are they thinking here? Don't they have a guy looking at replay before they challenge?
  5. I also think he'll opt out. His deal will look like peanuts after next year's mega deals. And, regardless of if its wise or not, history has shown that someone will not hesitate to give out a massive deal to a 31 year old.
  6. I think I owe Mitch Leidner an apology. I didn't think I'd ever see worse QB play, but I was wrong. This Croft kid makes Leidner look like Tom Brady.
  7. Ah, I misunderstood what you meant by that. Got it.
  8. You having zero interest in football doesn't exclude the Vikings from the discussion. I'm hopeful about the Wolves future, but they are a sixth of the way through the season, and haven't had a winning season in ages.
  9. By which measure are the Wolves the best MN team right now?
  10. Sure, but his K and BB numbers in between those 2 levels were pretty bad, IMO. We'll just agree to disagree. I see Slegers as AAAA depth as a ceiling.
  11. How else are people supposed to show their houseguests that they are a "real man", if they can't show them the trophy elephant they killed?
  12. I agree with Mike. The difference is that when the dems who do this are outed they will be unelectable. Republicans could do this in the middle of times square and still get re elected, in some districts.
  13. Improved in what way? His k and bb numbers have gotten worse as he's progressed. ERA for a milb pitcher is pretty much completely meaningless, IMO.
  14. Sure, but there are even more opportunities in MY or LA, that's just reality. Hopefully that's not his top priority.
  15. Well you'd have to look at how those 11 performed at age 28 to tell me if that's an age drop off, or of they were always poor defenders. Also, Stanton could drop to below average defensively, but still not be awful enough to be a DH only option.
  16. I would, yeah. He'll be 32, not 42. Is corner OF a spot where defense usually falls off severely in their early to mid 30's?
  17. Why would he be a DH? Stanton is a solid defensive outfielder.
  18. So apparently this guy likes to investigate paranormal activity, defends the KKK, and thinks Roe v. Wade and Miranda decisions are indefensible.
  19. I'm also not impressed at all with Rorteved, but fully admit that catchers are a whole different category.
  20. It's manager of the year, not manager of two years. So last year shouldn't even be considered, IMO. And that goes both ways, he shouldn't get bumped for the improvement, or dinged for the drop off. It should be results vs. talent viewing only this years roster and results. I have no idea who should win under those parameters.
  21. What happened with Phil Miller? Oh, you mean for not voting for him? Shouldn't Miller vote for who he objectively thinks should win, not the hometown guy?
  22. Isn't he expected to opt out in 3 years? That's not a huge albatross. Not that I endorse trading for him. We need pitching more than offense.
  23. Well no, of course not. But in this case, why would the Marlins pay the contract AND trade him?
  24. The fun part about discussing sports is that it's rarely abstract. We'll actually get to see who's right, eventually. Every contract is a risk. If risk was the only factor, we'd never see big contracts handed out. It only takes one team to think his next 3 years will be more like 2017 than 2016 or 15.
  25. This isn't an endorsement for, or against signing any FA's, but if the FO can't multitask extending players, AND signing FA pitchers in the same off season, then I think they should hire more executives.
