Stayed away from the thread today because I was too much of a negative nelly on Wednesday. But, woof. I cannot stand this team's approach at the plate. All the Twins had to do today was make contact and they probably win the game.
Silver lining - bullpen looks good and Rocco's not afraid to use guys for more than an inning at a time.
Fair enough. At the end of the day, we're all on the same side. I will make an effort to be more even-keeled during the game day threads. And absolutely agreed on Correa. Twins are lucky to have him!
I trend to be negative during game days. My thoughts on Popkins and Rocco are well known. I think there's enough of a track record for the negativity to be justified. Overall though, I like this roster and think they're capable of having a good season but-for the two aforementioned...
AK is finally healthy...and comfortable. This is why Rocco just needs to sink or swim with Julien. When a player isn't afraid of getting yanked, the game becomes easier.
Not enamored with what they got back for Polanco. I think the 2024 team is better with Polanco than it is with Kepler and that would've been my motivation. But, admittedly, there were different motivations (financial) at play...
Max is fool's gold. I know the Twins wanted to clear a path for Julien (although constantly pinch hitting for him defeats the purpose) and potentially Lee, but I would've traded Max before Polanco.
I'm still firmly in the camp of fire Popkins more than I am this line-up sucks. It's not 'this' bad. This is a replay of last season. Twins went for the banana in the tailpipe with the ALDS win and gave this clown another chance.
