  1. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/adamja01.shtml Interesting. This is the guy that the Twins acquired when they traded Willingham to the Royals.
  2. Same. Thought he'd be a decent 3/4 starter for a few years. But alas...
  3. The Jackson signing was odd from the start. I can see taking a flier on a younger pitcher and trying to tweak his delivery or something like that. But the book's written on Jackson considering his age. Velocity's down from 2023. Would much rather have Varland in the bullpen. I think he can follow a similar path as Jax did.
  4. Boof! Had some memorable moments in 2006 but fell back to Earth quickly after that season.
  5. He's a joy to watch. He's the best all around shortstop in baseball, when healthy.
  6. Sands is gassed. Rocco out of options, have to trust Ober in that spot.
  7. In fairness, the month isn't even half over.
  8. Yeah we may have written the old man off too soon!
  9. Yeah, I guess what helps him is I don't think there's anyone else on the 40 man roster to bring up...unless Wallner gets a shot.
  10. Considering how bad Manoah has been, these 6 innings could be the worst showing all season for this line up.
  11. Bats have been ice cold since Jeffers homer yesterday.
  12. When Ober is locked in, he's really good.
  13. Injuries have been the biggest culprit, IMHO.
  14. Cleveland is going to fall off a cliff and the Royals don't scare me at all. If the Twins stay reasonably healthy, they will win the division. But anything after that, it's not happening with this pen. And that's a bitter pill to swallow after we were told it was the best in baseball and the focus of the front office attention this winter.
  15. Varland and Alcala for Jackson and Okert. Louie and Alcala have their issues but both have more arm talent and give the Twins a higher ceiling if they are pitching well.
  16. I totally drank the Kool Aid when it came to the bullpen but in hindsight, the Twins patched together a bunch of DFA candidates and sold us a bill of goods. This pen is bad. Really bad. And they need to be smart and cut their losses before it costs them more games.
  17. Bullpen sucked but bats went cold against an equally bad pen.
