    It was 4-2. Not 10-2. Twins are in the middle of a playoff chase. As much as Lopez struggled, I'd take him in the 6th instead of Dobnak, who by the way, was lit up like a Christmas tree by the freaking White Sox. This is a classic Rocco game where the white flag is raised well before the game is over. The mentality permeates to the rest of the team and why they have these throw away games where they look mentally checked out from the opening pitch. There's no fire or emotion or gut instincts in that dugout. It's all about analytics and staring straight into space regardless of the game or the situation. This team should be much better than they are. But when a manager continues to send a message that mental errors and mistakes are tolerated and he himself gives winnable games away, you have a team with a very limited ceiling.

    ESPN currently ranks the Royals' farm system 26th in baseball. They have a perfect story on elite young player mixed with veterans having bounce back or career years. Kudos to them for being more aggressive in free agency than prior years but the Royals' long-term success depends on their pipeline from the minors. 2024 could be an outlier. We shall see.

    The Twins are to the Royals what the Guardians have been to the Twins. I'm not concerned about Kansas City.

    Guards feeling a little pressure in the standings for the first time since.... early May. Twins still have to prove they can beat them head to head but would be huge if the lead is only 3.5 or 2.5 headed into the weekend.
