Would have been really interesting if the Yankees got Flaherty because that was supposedly the precursor to moving Nestor Cortes. Max for Cortes would've saved the Twins some money and bolstered the pitching staff. Cortes has been up and down this year but I would've liked to see what the Twins could have done with him.

The Twins are to the Royals what the Guardians are to the Twins. I think the Twins win the season series and grab the #2 WC spot. I don't necessarily trust Boston or KC and wouldn't be shocked if the #3 WC spot goes to the team that doesn't win the AL West. As for the division, I just don't see it. 8 games remaining. Just resigned to the Twins losing the tie-breaker. They're not going 7-1 against the Guards. 4-4 is more likely. In that scenario, could the Twins pick up 7 non head-to-head games by October? -
Headrick will get another shot - but, I suspect its to replace Thielbar...in 2025. Topa's the most immediate reinforcement, probably replaces Dobber unless another injury pops up.

Duran / Jax / Alcala / Sands / Varland / Richards / Okert / Thielbar That should be the one in October. I still think they'll regret not getting an upgrade over the two lefties but nothing they can do about it now.

Definitely a need for a long-reliever so hopefully Dobnak can get the job done...just skeptical.

This isn't Dob's first rodeo. Never really thought he had the stuff to be anything more than a AAA+ pitcher.

In theory, Dobnak's what the Twins need. A rubber arm that can pitch multiple innings as a piggyback reliever. Just don't think the stuff is good enough for an extended stay in the majors.

Homeplate umpire aside, I don't see Dobs sticking too long in the majors. Just doesn't have the stuff.

Thought Dobber was the way to go last night. The 2-0 lead felt more like 22-0. Would like to have Alcala, Jax and Duran to close this one out. But, Dobber might get his shot.

What's the deal with Max? There's a love-hate thing with Max and TD but the Twins are better with him than they are without him. Hopefully not an IL stint.

Late to the party on this one. But nice to see a lead. Pablo battled. Mets' line up is tough. Only 3 hits is impressive. Now can the 'pen hold the lead?

They have the Sox coming up. In a perfect world, the Twins come back from this trip with a 3 GM lead for the final wildcard spot and then push that up to 5 GM over the weekend.

Pablo needs to be an ace today against a formidable lineup. 2 runs for the Mets might be all they need. Who knows, with the way the Twins are hitting, the Mets may only need to score 1.
