  1. Also, Wallner is stiff. He's not a great athlete and I think the days of hiding people at 1B are over. Even at his age, Santana is a decent athlete manning the position. I don't see Wallner moving around that well.
  2. Nelson Cruz. That's the only FA acquisition I can think of in recent Twins' history that's been better than Santana.
  3. Admittedly, it is a small sample size but when the line-up is fully healthy, the offense is good enough. Payroll limitations will ensure that none of the listed names are traded to the Twins. But, along with that, I can't help but think the ill-fated 2022 deadline will have the front office thinking twice (and three times) about trading prospects of any significance.
  4. Pablo pitched well against the Brewers last week. Let's keep up tonight.
  5. Welcome back, Royce. Stick around this time!
  6. The Red Sox have added some depth to their rotation, acquiring lefty James Paxton from the Dodgers in exchange for minor league infielder Moises Bolivar, the teams announced Friday. Bolivar's a 17 year old prospect in Boston's system. Twins could have presumably offered more, but with the salary restrictions being what they are, I'm not surprised they didn't get Paxton. In fairness to the front office, Paxton doesn't really move the needle.
  7. Santana has been a great pick-up. Outside of Correa, he's been the Twins' best free-agent acquisition in years.
  8. For prospects. Hasn't been great this season (except against the Twins) but proven post-season performer and 2 more years of team control after the 2024 season. Good get for the Mariners. Equally important, the Twins won't see him again this year unless its in October.
  9. Wondering the same thing. 0-25. Not sure how the analytics point to Margot as being a viable option at PH. Perhaps the analytics did at some point, like in March or April. But, now? Rocco either needs a new computer or someone needs to explain to him what 0-25 means. Margot makes me long for the days of Randy Bush and Gene Larkin. Those two always seemed to come through in PH opportunities.
  10. Straw man argument at its finest.
  11. Does Rocco 'suck' - No. Is Rocco a good manager - No. Both of those statements can be true. Very rarely is anything going to fall entirely on one end of the spectrum. He's a mediocre to decent manager who makes questionable in-game decisions rooted in analytics rather than a feel for what's happening. Could the Twins do worse? Absolutely. But, could they have a better manager than Rocco? Yes, they could.
  12. You're the master of hyperbole and creating false narratives. I never said Rocco sucks. But, his constant reliance on a pinch hitter that is now 0-25 in that role and before today his unwillingness to bunt a runner to 3B are things that should be called out.
  13. lol @ Okert on Twins Live right now.
  14. So Rocco goes with the prevailing wisdom / common sense move - after ignoring it on multiple occasions - and people have hurt feelings because he's not being showered with praise? lol. Only on TD.
  15. I will say this. Rocco is maddening as a manager. The Pohlad's completely sabotaged the off-season. But, the players on this team do have a lot of heart and there's zero quit.
  16. Max, just make contact. Please...
  17. Soto and the Phillies are gift wrapping this one. Come on, Twins.
  18. Rocco loves his analytics. At some point, the #'s said Margot is a viable option as pinch hitter - but does he not use updated numbers as the season goes along? There's no excusing 0-25.
  19. Have to find a way to win this one. Two games against Milwaukee and last night against the Phillies. Winnable games that are lost because there's no execution. Someone needs to come through.
