  1. When the line up struggles, it's because they chase. Cut that down for a while but it's back again.
  2. Chafin is better than Thielbar and Okert.
  3. I remember when Staumont, Jackson and Okert were brought in to create the best bullpen in baseball. Whoops.
  4. Still don't think Stewart is healthy and Staumont is regressing. Richards doesn't inspire much confidence but the Twins could very well have an opening or two in the pen. I would actually just prefer Varland to get a look there.
  5. The Royals' farm system is one of the lower ranked systems in baseball. Raya and Priellip type talent would likely be among their top 4-5 prospects. Is that what they gave up?
  6. Well, it's relative. I'd take Dejong over Martin and Lee at this point. I'd take Lorenzen over Festa. I'd take Erceg over Staumont. Twins don't necessarily have a need for a platoon CF, but I'd rather take a flier on Cobb than Festa. I absolutely think the players that Royals and Guards acquired would be more helpful to the Twins than they what the Twins are relying on going forward.
  7. At this point, I'd be surprised if this group makes the post-season. Relying on two rookies in the rotation. A bullpen that has been dreadfully inconsistent. Those two things aren't conducive to winning when it matters.
  8. Because the lack of activity isn't right sizing payroll. So that's not something they need to address.
  9. Those teams improved. The Twins didn't. All within striking distance of the Twins. So yes, despite their records as of today, I'd rank the Twins 4th among that group.
  10. The guys being traded on expiring K's - literally pennies at this point.
  11. Red Sox, Mariners, Twins and Royals battling for 2 spots - right now, I see the Twins as the 'worst' among the group.
  12. You are correct, sir. And it just makes this franchise that much more frustrating.
  13. Joe Pohlad needs to address the media at some point - either today or tomorrow - and someone needs to ask some hard questions.
  14. Except for the Twins - must be the best team in baseball and everyone just missed the memo.
  15. Shouldn't shoot the messenger and that's all Falvey and Levine are at this point. But when they come out, 'we really like our team', someone needs to ask them - so that means every other team in the sport didn't like their roster?
  16. Yankees traded Caleb Ferguson to the Astros (hated rival) for a PTBN and international signing pool $$$. Too steep of a price for the Twins.
  17. Last year's deadline was disappointing but never got the sense that Cleveland would catch the Twins in the standings. This year's deadline is way worse. Clinging to a WC spot with Boston, Kansas City, and Seattle making moves to improve their club, And the Twins do absolutely nothing.
  18. The Erceg trade is a kick in the pants. Twins have a need. Royals' farm system doesn't have much. You get outbid by a team chasing you in the standings. Just awful.
  19. Royals have had a nice deadline. They'll leapfrog the Twins in the standings before long. But, in fairness, it is hard to compete with a big market team like Kansas City.
