    Paddack in the bullpen always seemed like the logical move, but at that salary, I can see the Twins having other ideas.

    Doesn't it take catchers a while to develop? Dodgers seem to have given up him a little early. Not necessarily sure that this means Vazquez is gone. I think it's an example of taking a flier on a once elite prospect at a position that could use an infusion of talent throughout the minor league system.

    I would be surprised if the Tigers traded him to the Twins...unless the Twins made an insane offer, and I don't think they would. All things being equal, trade him outside the division.

    Bernardino makes a lot of sense for the Twins. Seems like his name has popped up quite a bit in recent off-season trade rumors.

    Considering that Correa's contract starts to decrease in value, IIRC in 2026, unless the foot injuries end his career, and they could, he might be with the Twins for the rest of his contract - including the team option years.

    Yup. Agreed. He's close with Buxton. Likes Rocco. He knew what he was getting when he re-signed with the Twins. He may not have anticipated payroll cuts but I think he understood that he wasn't going to be playing for a team with a top 5 payroll. Going to the Yankees opens a can of worms.

    Are the Twins even listening? Sounds like teams are circling Correa because of the potential sale and the Pohlad's being notoriously cheap - doesn't mean the Twins are paying much attention or giving it any real thought.

    I don't think Correa's being traded. A lot of this smoke is coming from the N.Y. media that is presuming the Yankees are going to try and make a significant move in wake of Soto picking the Mets. They might indeed make a big move but it won't be Correa.

    The Twins just love this type of player so I fully expect either Canha or Santana at 1B next summer.

    If the Twins had their choice, they'd trade Correa. But, it's not their choice. It's Correa's. He got the no-trade clause for a reason. He's not going anywhere.

    Best of luck to AK. Didn't see this one coming. Also, props to him. IYAM, the Twins would've tendered him a contract this winter and he could have sat on the 60-day IL while collecting a paycheck. Showed a lot of integrity with this decision.

    If Walker Jenkins is up with the Twins in 2025, something went horribly wrong. The Twins don't rush prospects, even if they're hitting well in the minors so if he's with the big club, injuries have ravaged the roster.

    They can avoid the landmines by NOT jumping right on top of them. Okert. Staumont. Richards. Jackson. Those guys pretty much had flashing neon signs on their forehead that said - DO NOT SIGN. Until the Twins treat the bullpen as something other than a necessary inconvenience, we'll see more of the same struggles.

    1. Pablo 2. Ober 3. Ryan 4. SWR 5. Festa SWR is going to make a jump in 2025. Fatigue got the best of him in 2024 but he had some moments for the Twins and kept them afloat when the rotation was a mess. Biggest ???, as it is with almost every team, is health and depth. Totally fine with those arms as the starting rotation but if someone goes down, it's white knuckle time. As for Paddack, I'd love to see him the bullpen. Twins are lacking there but $7M is an overpay and some team (Dodgers, Yankees, Mets) will take a flier on Paddack and send the Twins a low-level lottery ticket prospect in return.

    Too much boom or bust from the line-up. When they were 'on', they scored in bunches. When they weren't, the slumps became prolonged and affected the entire line-up.

    No reason to concede anything in the AL Central. The Guardians, Tigers, and Royals have as many flaws as the Twins do. The primary difference in 2024 was health. If Correa doesn't miss 2 months, the Twins would have been in the post-season. Admittedly, there's no guarantees or even confidence that Correa can stay on the field in 2025...but even so, injuries sometimes have a way of evening out and the Guards especially had a pretty charmed life in that regard. I for one don't think Cleveland's bullpen is going to pitch at the same level in 2025 and that alone will bring them back to the pack. If Clase's post-season hiccups were a sign of the league adjusting to whatever made him unhittable, then the Guards are in trouble.

    This. I'd be surprised if someone buys the team only to cut or maintain payroll and deal with low attendance and everything that comes with it. That doesn't necessarily mean the owners will be the 'right' ones but I do think there will be an uptick in payroll.

    Oh, and who knows - even if the Pohlad's do sell - the transaction might not be finished until well into 2025 or even 2026. This stuff can and does take a lot of time.

    Welp, so much for a boring off-season. It very well might be in terms of personnel moves, but overall, things could get really interesting. No guarantees that new owners will make things better - but also, no guarantees that the new owners won't be serious about winning a world series. I'm going to err on the side of optimism. This fan base is due for something positive and nothing would be more positive than owners that want to win and win big.

    They trade Correa and my fandom card which has been active since 1986 is officially shredded. I'd be done with this team.
