  1. The Royals are finalizing a deal to acquire right-hander Lucas Erceg from the Athletics, per Jeff Passan of ESPN on X. The other components of the deal aren’t publicly known at this time.
  2. Yeah. Dob hate is going to be collateral damage for sure.
  3. Cobb has a decent track record. Odds of him being healthy in 2024 aren't great but not a bad guy to take a flier on.
  4. Guardians picked up Alex Cobb. Interesting buy-low candidate.
  5. It is definitely a need in the bullpen....
  6. Guards up 2-0 against the Tigers. Twins need a W tonight. 6.5 back on July 31st wouldn't be a good look. Division looks like it is slipping away.
  7. I think the Dobnak move was happening regardless. They need a long reliever to piggyback Festa and Sands likely not available today.
  8. Duran / Jax / Sands / Alcala / Dobs / Staumont / Okert / Thielbar The bottom four guys in the pen are not ML caliber relievers.
  9. Being reported by a few media outlets now...seems legit.
  10. Trade deadline '24: where Randy Dobnak is the big addition.
  11. What's more concerning here is Stewart. If he's going back to the IL, with his injury history, you have to wonder if he's back at all in 2024.
  12. He is a righty, yes but is good against lefties for his career. Okert and Thielbar are the two most obvious spots to upgrade, IMHO. Doesn't necessarily have to be a lefty.
  13. Rogers supposedly close to being dealt...Padres?
  14. Added context: Red Sox gave up their 29th best prospect.
  15. Red Sox picked up Lucas Sims from the Reds. Waiting on the return, but doubt it was much. Better than Okert and Thielbar. This is the kind of move that you make. People will shrug and say, who is Lucas Sims? Or, they'll say it doesn't move the needle. Until the Twins are winning 3-2 in the 7th inning and Rocco hands the ball to Okert or Thielbar to get a couple of lefties out.
  16. Stewart back to the IL?
  17. The Twins are going to sit this one out. It is what it is. Hopefully... 1. Correa gets back soon. 2. Stewart works through the rust. 3. Topa can be effective. 4. Duran is more consistent. 5. SWR and Festa can handle the pressure.
  18. Not sure if it was tongue in cheek media speculation, but didn't Correa tell the front office about pitchers they should look to acquire? And he definitely went on record about the Twins needing pitching. Star players can sometimes sway a front office, but not sure Correa's going to get the Pohlad's to open their check book.
  19. Well, yes, it does happen all the time. That's true. The poster isn't wrong in theory - it isn't a credible take. But, how he arrived at that conclusion is faulty. It's not a credible take for this franchise at the current time.
  20. I think we can all agree on the following: the Pohlad's leave a lot to be desired this season. And it sucks.
  21. I wouldn't want the Twins to make this type of trade so I'm with you on that. And I do appreciate the content on TD. But, I just don't see how something can be called a 'more than credible take' when the outlined scenario has 0% chance of happening.
  22. If the Yankees pick up Flaherty, the Twins should see what the price is for Nestor Cortes. He's been inconsistent for the Yankees but he's not owed much money the rest of the season and the Twins can cut ties after the season if they're concerned about arbitration. He's pitched in high-leverage spots before and a change in scenery might do him some good.
