  1. Probably, but at least we’re on pace to double last games hit output.
  2. My issue is less that he jumped on the 1st pitch, but more that he got something to drive and he dribbled it out to short. Can’t barrel anything right now. He needs to work on that in St Paul me thinks
  3. That was the most Miranda AB I’ve ever seen.
  4. Kim with the lost art of protecting the plate.
  5. Pretty clean by Miranda. Maybe the start of a positive trend.
  6. That’s how I was taught the game.
  7. Wacha is exactly the type of pitcher the Twins should tee off on. Theoretically.
  8. This. That's what is making this so hard to watch - clueless ABs against mediocre (or worse) pitching. My fear is that these players are what they are at this point as far as what their "approach" is at the plate. And I see no evidence that the Manager or hitting coach working with anyone on that. I hope I'm wrong, but.....
  9. I'll gladly flog that horse. I think it would be giving them too much credit for having any approach lately. Here's to hoping that there's a more enlightened approach to plate appearances in the near future.
  10. Yeah I'm torn this way too. In the moment, it's exasperating watching these clueless plate appearances, yet I believe in the "math" that says they can only get better. I'm in that growing crowd of people that find this recent version of Twins baseball/roster construction nearly unwatchable. As it's been posted, why on earth would you ever throw a strike to most of these guys when they're so eager to help a pitcher out?
  11. I can’t wait for Rocco’s insightful post game comments.
  12. This is unwatchable. Yet I watch.
  13. Lou I should have started my post acknowledging that your article was both clever and accurate as far as Keplers value. All things considered he’s kind of an asset/luxury for the Twins at the moment but as you point out, is going to eventually need to leave the party. Like a lot of people I grew weary of watching pound grounder after grounder into the shift, seemingly unwilling to consider any adjustments. But hey, I saw him take a pitch the way recently! Im not banking on him getting traded, and he’s got too much value to just dump, but there’s a roster jam on the horizon and it’s going to be increasingly difficult to defend him, especially when this little hot (lukewarm?) streak ends.
  14. I'll agree to put away the torches and pitchforks as far as running Max out of town. For now. We have ample evidence to confidently know what he is; a plus right fielder, capable in a pinch of playing centerfield, with a decline (but not completely useless) bat. To my knowledge he's carried himself well, not been a negative clubhouse guy, and most casual (?) Twins fans think well of him. I just don't want to see him batting near the top of the order.
  15. I’ve seen enough of Moran.
  16. Agreed. A lot more good comes from balls in play compared to whiffs.
  17. That “triple” is an error at every level of baseball that I’ve witnessed.
  18. Do we have a late inning defensive replacement for Miranda? Don’t get me wrong - on a personal level I think he’s a nice polite young man. I just don’t know that he’s a Major League starting 3rd baseman. Yet.
  19. Miranda putting on a clinic out there
  20. Yeah tough play but you gotta make that in the Majors.
  21. I haven’t seen one good looking swing from Miranda so far this year. I think he should be working on that in St. Paul.
  22. Home run swings with 2 strikes. I’m sorry, that’s just bad baseball.
  23. I mean I’m glad he’s not taking these bad ABs in the field but Correa really needs to show up at the plate.
  24. Maybe not a Broadway show, but it’s supposed to be entertainment nonetheless. Im not alone in finding this brand of Twins baseball painful to watch. Rocco hasn’t shown any feel for the “moment”; his in-game decisions are uninspiring to say the least. That Gordon AB was classic.
