  1. Probably not intentional but there needs to be some reaction
  2. Good for Margot. Maybe our patience is going to be rewarded.
  3. Ah, the Great Carlos Santana Leadoff Experience going as expected…..
  4. I’m dreaming I know but I’m hoping for some big, old fashioned move in the coaching staff to light a fire under this listless franchise.
  5. I too am annoyed by the egregious bad ball/strike calls we witness, but in my heart I don’t believe it’s what is holding the team back. That’s why I think it’s critical for the Manager to set the tone; truly good teams can overcome this stuff but once in a while the Manager should be sticking up for his pitchers and hitters. As far as overcoming this stuff, this team hasn’t looked like they consistently can. And it isn’t Rocco’s style to argue with umps, even if it might fire up his guys.
  6. Through 6, we have 7 hits and 2 walks and zero runs. It feels like we’re witnessing epic levels of futility this year. Coming up small most of the time.
  7. Still a pretty meaningful statistic to me.
  8. Yes, and over the course of that long season we expect to see all kinds of highs and lows. All FO’s market their teams coming out of ST as having a shot at winning it all, but obviously only one does. Does that make everyone else unsuccessful? No. Fan bases can be satisfied (and entertained) by good fundamentals, well managed competitive teams that balance established players and exciting new players, and legitimate progress that looks like it’s building to something better. My lament is that this franchise appears happy with just treading water, and that more or less worked in a bad division. I see Cleveland and KC on the way up right now.
  9. I hate it more, and can hardly stand the thought of it when they’re playing well and firing on all cylinders. They’re miles from that and with this roster and coach I don’t see it coming around in a meaningful way this year. I’m allowing the reality of a 3rd place finish to sink in.
  10. Stroman walks a lot of guys. Here’s hoping that the Twins (and umps) don’t expand the strike zone and make the guy work a little.
  11. Agree that at this point of his career, Buxton profiles as a great glove, almost no stick No. 9 hitter that refuses to adapt his hitting approach to his skill set that includes great speed. He essentially negates that advantage by being a never-take-a-walk, swing for the fences, jerk everything hitter, but that is what the Twins apparently want from him. He’d be a bottom of the order on most other competitive teams.
  12. It’s sad that I’m reduced to the moral victory of breaking up a perfect game. That’s where we are against NY apparently.
  13. It seems like we’ve given up an inordinate amount of 0-2 homers this year.
  14. Such a joy watching Lewis play. He also happens to be such a positive guy. Not a coincidence.
  15. Man just need to string together a few decent AB’s…..
  16. Miranda looks the part over there at 1B. Just saying.
