    Been a rough 3 weeks for Willi at the plate. I get that he’s a better late game choice at 2B but Julien has been coming around lately. I’d let him bat there.

    I too am sad it’s apparently ending this way but the writings been on the wall as far as Keplers future here. If he can get his knee right I can see him being helpful to another team but we need to see what we have with Larnach, Walner, Keirsey, et. al.

    Pi**ed away another decent start. Our killer LHP optimized lineup predictably does little. Our “interchangeable parts” approach yields shoddy fielding that cost a close game. Running on fumes.

    This. Seems like a no brainer that you’d ask your rookie in a huge spot to do something high percentage like lay down a bunt to move the game tying run to 3rd. But apparently, no.

    Unsolicited opinion - I really want to be optimistic about Martin but he doesn’t look very instinctive as an outfielder. He’s athletic but makes things look difficult out there. Contributing to the perception that this is really a defensively challenged team sans Correa and Buxton.

    With the Faces of the Franchise either absent or ineffective, and the shoddy base running and fielding, and lately reversion to stringing bad ABs, and the lefty/righty lineup stubbornness from on high, well, this ain’t a postseason team. I think we just saw one; they came into town and kicked our a** when we had everything to play for.

    Bullpen is such a glaring problem. It was predicted coming out of spring training. Team essentially did nothing to address that.
