    I think you’re fair. Back in my day (eye roll) a guy with his speed would have been coached/developed to maximize his impact by being a high contact, menace on the base paths type. His approach at the plate essentially negates his speed. He could be such a disruptive factor, in a good way, but as is he’s an easy out, No. 9 type player.

    Let me know if you’ve heard this before. Largely effective Twins starter with modest pitch count gets pulled, things go south.

    Have the feeling that IF the Twins could just string together a handful of quality ABs they’d beat this Tigers lineup pretty handily. But I thought the same thing last night.

    When do we stop dismissing this complete organizational failure to “early season cold starts”, “unfortunate injuries “ and “small sample sizes”? Asking for a friend…. Honestly this has been the script for at least a few years: seemingly meaningless spring training, ice cold hitting at the beginning of the year, terrible if not undisciplined plate appearances throughout, forced/fruitless platoon and lineup decisions. And of course the roster construction. As big a fan as I am, I’m almost hoping for a complete meltdown that forces the organizational enema that would eventually restore some entertainment to Target Field. That’s a tough pill for me to swallow, but I can’t in good conscience financially support this current mess.
