  1. Came to US and MN in 2001. Started Supporting all the local teams. MN teams were good and in contention in the early 2000s. The Twins went on a magical run beating the Moneyball Athletics with an even lower payroll, eventually losing to the WS winner. I fell in love with the Twins because of that magical run and because of players like Tori Hunter, Joe Nathan, Jacque Jones, Brad Radtke, etc.
  2. No way we trade Wallner unless we’re getting a better player back in return. I don’t even think Larnach will get traded because they still believe in him.
  3. Do you we need to bring him back though? We have so many good young outfielders in the minors raring to go. Martin, Williams (Kirilloff to OF), Larnach, Stevenson, Prato, Kiersey, and Camargo are all ready to go or almost ready. We can trade him and get some good value now.
  4. Scrapping bottom of the barrel as usual.
  5. Agreed. It was unfortunate what happened especially to Morneau. I feel like with tall catchers, injuries can be expected. Joe should have been moved or played less as catcher.
  6. Thank you for the piece. I liked Joe Mauer and Justin. They were a great duo. Some of our fans over idiolize/overrate him sometimes. There was no malice intended.
  7. Yeah they’ve been excellent all year. Don’t know why they keep starting old/no potential guys like Contreras when they could’ve called up Kiersey Jr. along time ago.
  8. I’m not a Joe Mauer hater but he’s highly overrated. He’s not overrated like Jeter (Goat of Overrated) but he’s highly regarded when he didn’t accomplish much individual or team wise. He won 1 MVP and didn’t do much in the playoffs that year. Justin Morneau, Johan Santana, and even Tori Hunter were much more important and Better players for the Twins. He’s highly regarded because he’s the hometown hero.
  9. Yeah Martin is definitely going to outfield and be a utility man.
  10. That's 4 lefties and 2 unproven/often injured players. There's just too much uncertainty going forward. Jeffers is only one I'm sure about this year. Lewis/Kirillof are good but they haven't overcome their injury problems and Larnach has been inconsistent/injured and regressed this year. I'm not even sure about our veterans either because they've struggled (Carlos) or been injury riddled (Buxton/Polanco).
  11. I would be shocked if STL traded Goldschmidt or Arenado, and especially for that package. They're definitely going to want top/top prospects for Goldschmidt or Arenado. It's already been mentioned everywhere they're just retooling for next year and are not going to trade their top hitters. They want pitching in return for some of their lower tier hitters like De Jong and others.
  12. STL can definitely resign Gray and Maeda if they want. They're a first class organization, especially in FA. I don't think that package will get Goldschmidt or Arenado though.
  13. Good article. Sometimes minor changes/tweaks can become major improvements. Imagine if we had a decent bullpen and competent (not great) right handed hitters? A few positive tweaks could help this team go a long way much like it has historically went for former teams that surged at the right time. The 1987 Twins, the Cardinals and the Phillies come to mind. You're point about Buxton and Correa is well noted, however, maybe we/Twins need to come up with a plan for Buxton to get healthier or move out of CF and into RF or LF. I still believe in this team, even though we might be very negative a times. I do believe in the old adage that good pitching always beats good hitting, and we have some good/decent pitchers.
  14. They could’ve gotten David Robertson for 2 very young players in FCL or Single A like the Marlins just did. Why are they just sitting there. We need bullpen help and a RH outfielder. Get Adam Duvall and Brad Hand from the Rockies.
  15. Why would we give up Raya, the only high end starter in our farm system. Raya should only be traded for an ace or a great position player.
  16. I know how you feel. What pathetic effort in a must win game.
  17. Pathetic team and effort. Terrible management. If we can’t hit lefties, why doesn’t the manager make the right adjustments.
  18. We can try. There’s a lot more buyers then sellers it seems.
  19. We can’t trade our only great young pitcher. We still need maximize our strength, which is our pitching. Gray & Maeda will both be gone next year, then our starting pitching will be suspect again. I don’t want Randy Dobnek back in our MLB rotation. All of our young pitchers have been suspect this. SWR has been atrocious this year, Varland has been up & down, and Henriquez and the other guys ceiling don’t look that great. Raya & Festa are 2 years away.
  20. Yeah agreed. We need veteran RH who have playoff/WS experiences. I think we should trade Polanco and Gallo for some younger mlb ready guys and promote young guys like Wallner, Prato, etc.
  21. Great point. I can’t remember the last time we tried to trade for an impact veteran bat addition. Shannon Stewart is the last one I can remember and he was great. We should trade for more veterans that have playoff experience. Give me Arenado and Goldschmidt. They’d turn us into a top 5/10 offense.
  22. I’d love this lineup. We have to stop relying on these older guys like Kepler and especially Polanco. Polanco is always injured.
  23. Yeah agree. We don’t need these platoon types when we could be playing our youngsters and developing them. Castro, Solano & Vazquez have been subpar offensively and not good enough defensively, except for Vazquez.
