  1. When you have a cluster**** like we do, NOBODY is untouchable. If teams call let them talk.
  2. The dire state that the Twins Organization is in right now reminds me of someone having to hit rock bottom before they will change. I am hoping that this is rock bottom for the Twins. Terry Ryan you have a problem and until you admit that you are responsible, the organization cannot move forward. Swallow your pride and either step down or "get on with it" and blow this thing up.
  3. The article confirmed that TR is not only in denial but is delusional that he can fix it. He doesn't even know what the problem is.
  4. http://www.twincities.com/2016/06/17/twins-terry-ryan-not-time-to-blow-this-thing-out/ I read this article and I damn near threw up. TR is quoted as saying it's his job to figure this out. Damn dude, you put this roster together out of spring training and we were on a pace for strikeouts to shatter the MLB record. You are the one with the big idea to put Sano in right. You elected to sit on your hands in the off-season and not improve the bullpen. It was you Mr. RYAN who signed at best starting pitchers who are no better than 4 or 5 starters on quality teams. It is you TR who have shuffled young players back and forth with no opportunity to show if they are part of the future or not. Mr. RYAN look in the mirror and you will see the problem YOU CANT FIGURE THESE THINGS OUT!
  5. Just because I am on the anti Front Office bandwagon I am hoping for the sequel David Ortiz II and that it cements TR legacy. Sorry but this year has just pissed me off with a poorly constructed roster to start the year and head scratching, mind numbing, WTF desperate moves.TR assembled the roster to start the year and has shown us by the recent moves he has no plan but is DESPERATE. Tick tock tick tock time is running out TR and hope retirement and becoming a viewer of this site suits you better than pretending to be a Bottom ranked baseball executive.
  6. Waiting for the next waiver wire OF pickup. TR is becoming a master at desperation moves.
  7. Needlenose Ned or Ned the head! I did the whistling belly button trick at the high school talent show.
  8. How can a GM be so wrong about a roster entering a season? Yes there have been injuries but to trust TR at this point in regards to his evaluation of talent is hopeless. Trust is like an eraser. It gets smaller and smaller with every mistake. These moves are an act of desperation.
  9. Reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day. New day same sh*t.
  10. Bottom line. Finally what we have been saying about the poorly constructed roster and head scratching decisions are being questioned by people who have a platform greater than we do here! Rejoice!!!! Terry Ryan its been nice knowing you and Paul Molitor, you were a very good player but man you don't have a clue about managing game situations. Blow this cluster**** up and let the young guys play the rest of the season to see what we have.
  11. The last time we had the 1st pick it was used on another catcher who we are now playing at first. I think we should use the pick on a pitcher if indeed the class has many major league ready arms available and trade Dozier and Plouffe along with a top prospect for a mlb ready catcher. I just don't think the Twins would move the catching prospect up as fast as the pitcher and we need help at both spots now.
  12. I agree but 1, just 1 top tier free agent pitcher either next year or 2018 to go along with our young guys. I'm actually okay with Santana as a number 3 if we can't trade him to a contender. The Hughes and Nolasco contracts are definately awful.
  13. At this point die-hard Twin Fans can only look to the future to escape this season. The following link has broken down the top 100 D1 prospects for 2017. http://www.d1baseball.com/prospects/top-100-college-prospects-for-2017/ I only wanted to look at D1 because I have come to the realization that this will be the only way we will find a true Number 1 pitcher. The last time the Twins had the first pick and used it on a pitcher was 1983 when they chose Tim Belcher and he elected not to sign. Back then the Twins said they didn't have enough money to sign Belcher and low balled both him and Billy Swift their number 2 pick so neither one signed. This was at the end of the Calvin Griffith period and I can remember how squeaky cheap he was. Now we have Jim Pohlad. Lets hope history doesn't repeat itself! There are a lot of pitchers that will need very little seasoning according to the article so we can only cross our fingers that ownership gets it right this time. I have little faith right now but if the stars align, we get out of the way and let him pitch maybe we will finally have a NUMBER 1 PITCHER by 2018. We have a interesting group of young players I just wish like most of you that we let them all play at some point this lost year. If we can solidify our everyday line-up with youngsters this year(goodbye Plouffe,Dozier,Suzuki) maybe the 3 blind mice composed of Pohlad,Ryan and Molitor can find a catcher and a few more pitchers to complete the pitching staff. With a stud 2017 pick, Berrios,Jay,Stewart,Duffey,Meyer?,May?,Gibson? The cupboard isn't entirely bare it's just that the owner and GM prefer generic products named Nolasco, Hughes,Pelfrey,Santana and not name brand products. After all generic products are cheaper.
  14. Let's hope Nolasco pitches well,Plouffe and Dozier and even Suzuki hit a little so we can trade them all. I agree Santana can be a solid veteran influence but if he pitches well and a contender offers value, we need to move him too.
  15. Who would you rather see on the mound Dean,Nolasco,Milone,Hughes? I'll go with Dean we know what we have with the The other 3.
  16. The STribis basically Pravda for Minneapolis "system".Beat writers write press releases for the Twins. The "columnists" have more leeway, but they are still cogs in the machine. We should not expect objectivity from the STrib. That said, the Twins painted themselves into a corner when they didn't admit that REBUILD was necessary and not simply RELOAD and fine tune. Payroll was in continual reduction until the decision (which I believe came from relentless arm twisting) that led to the signing of Nolasco, Hughes, et al.The draft choices were elevated to super star rank as soon as they were signed. The constant hyperbole of these young guys was foisted on the public (and the owner!) as a way to deflect blame for past sins and to promote sales. The 2015 season was judged as "the transition year from a 90+ loss team to a 90+ win team. Sadly, we found out (as well as the owner) that the Twins are still a 90+ loser team and that the 2015 son was merely an outlier/aberration. Hence the comment "...total system failure..."Rality had struck. The STrib article is nothing more than an attempt to deflect blame from management to players. It has nothing to do with AAA experience. There has been an abundance of evidence that shows that AAA success doesn't translate ML success. I guess I didn't realize this. WOW, what a job. Report on the team but be unable to criticize. I always thought beat writers could develop relationships with the players and then take the risk that what they wrote could jeopardize the inside stories that players can provide. I guess they are paid to be regurgitators.
  17. Many of us forecasted that the Twins would have a difficult season with the unbalanced roster that TR constructed. The beat writers, ever so optimistic, whiffed on this one in their initial analysis of the 2016 season. My take is that are scared to psss off anyone within the organization if they are critical of the direction those in charge take. Now with the season already lost and national writers being critical they step up to the plate. But to start attacking individual performances and not addressing the true cause of all of this, ownership and Terry Ryan, misses the root cause of the dire situation the Twins are in.
  18. In the perfect world Everyone would stop going to Twin games and send the dumba***s a message. Why should people pay to watch this crap. The mindset of an owner to stand beside a GM that has made this many headscratching signings and moves. Ryan is lucky he's not the CEO of a corporation because the board would have his butt fired by now. No other way to say it "He is inept."
  19. You are either in or out with the movement to the youth especially in a year like this. Lets see we have Meyer,Kepler,Buxton and now Berrios. It's much like a basketball player missing a few shots and being benched. This is no way to instil confidence in our younger players. Either you are in or out Terry Ryan! Not to say that the youngsters need work But you have the major league coaches that they can work with on off days. Does this mean they have more confidence in our minor league coaches to help them turn it around. What a cluster****.
  20. I want what you're smoking. Make these miserable games more fun. Lol
  21. I agree with you that the four mentioned have promise. I'm still holding out hope that Berrios can be a legit Number 1 starter. Only time will tell but no way can you send him back down. We know Terry Ryan loves signing number 5 guys Pelfrey, Nolasco, Correia so maybe the 4th or 5th or is it 10th time is a charm for his unadvised signings. We know that he won't spend the money for a true number 1 but maybe one of our young guys will surprise.
  22. As far as a manager Dave Martinez will get a job soon. Been under Maddon for a while.
  23. Michael Girsch Asst. GM Cardinals...Great organization and spend within their means which of course is what he'd be asked to do by our owners.
  24. Somebody ANYBODY please explain to me how you bring Polanco up and just have him sit or give him a PH here and there. What is the thinking? I don't get it.
  25. I like your optimism. I hope we can compete but changes have to be made and the young guys are going to have to step up and the only way that will happen is major league experience. At this point I just don't have confidence in TR bringing in anybody either by trade or free agency to really help. Sounds like we are pretty much on the same page.
