  1. When I saw that Solano and Castro were in the lineup, against Kershaw, I thought we were dunzo. I was wrong. They held their own and Ober was very good. Great win! I'd LOVE to win the finale today!
  2. Kepler to the IL with a hammy, and I believe Larnach is coming back to replace him.
  3. They already signed Paddack to an extension. He won't be a free agent until after the 2025 season.
  4. I definitely can understand the reasoning for the trade, but there's no doubt it didn't work out for us. I don't know that I'd be interested in re-signing him, unless it's one hell of a bargain. For as little as we've actually seen him pitch, it's almost like he was never even here. I think it's probably a good idea to just take the loss on all of it and move on.
  5. First Paddack...now Mahle. Not the best luck when it comes to trading for pitchers. I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky that Lopez doesn't seem to be heading down this road.
  6. AK is the only guy in the lineup, that actually looks like he has a plan at the plate. His swing is under control and he isn't trying to go yard on every swing. Unlike EVERYONE else on this team. I hope he retains this mind set, and doesn't become one of the crowd of homer happy teammates. He needs to stay healthy and stay in the lineup.
  7. It's not that I don't like him, but I'm honestly not a real big fan. It's kind of an I could take him or leave him feeling. It sure wouldn't bother me if he was gone. The thing is...just when I'm about to scream at the tv because he'll probably hit another weak grounder or pop up, he crushes one like last night and wins a game for us. Rocco must love him though, because he plays just about every game.
  8. Well...he's a big guy, but I think if you feed him enough...he's sustainable.
  9. The initial report I saw said cash "or" a PTBNL. It appears that was incorrect, as was I. Subsequent reports I've seen say cash "and" a PTBNL. That seems to be the deal.
  10. Trevor Megill to the Brewers for cash and a PTBNL.
  11. A win, is a win, is a win. It was pretty ugly and interesting at the end, but I'll take it.
  12. I just want to get AK up here and see what happens. Finally see what he can do. I hope he's healthy...or at least as healthy as he's been in a long time. I hope he plays regularly and shows all of us that he can be a very good hitter again. It'll be interesting who they move to open up a spot for him.
  13. Absolutely 100% correct. Rocco waived the white flag today. No way Maeda should've been left in that game...he was getting killed.
  14. To get rid of Donaldson was a win, no matter what we gave up, got back, or what ever happened afterward.
  15. Can we do this...PLEASE? I'm getting pretty damn tired of him coming into games and seeing him poop his diaper on the mound!
  16. I'd take Ober or Varland in the rota right now over Mahle.
  17. Just a brutal game to watch. Only getting 4 hits in that mess, is abysmal. No way that Moran should be in that situation, I hate Pagan, but I would have thrown him in there. I honestly don't know what the deal is with Kep...he looks out of it at times, but he did hit the homer. He looks like he doesn't care anymore. The strikeouts are unbelievable! We're so lost at the plate, it's comical. We better figure out some things real soon, or we'll be doing the slow ride to never-never land again.
  18. It's early, but we absolutely have to figure out a way to hang with these top tier teams. At least be competitive and stay around .500 with them. We can't let them come in here and kick our butts, and we have to be able to go to their yard and do some kicking ourselves. Otherwise...we aren't going anywhere.
  19. Kepler sure isn't the answer, and Gallo isn't either. I don't really like Buxton at the 1 spot, but he'd be a much better alternative than Kep or Gallo. If Polanco can get back soon, I'd put him at leadoff and see what happens. Julien might be the guy down the road.
  20. Not buying it. I'd rather he was on another team. I hope he figures some things out while he's here, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
  21. Has to be Duran. Lopez next, if Duran is unavailable. To even mention Pagan closing games, is beyond insane.
  22. My opinion is...nothing would please the general fan base, and many people that frequent this great website, more than our starters pitching well enough to go deeper in games. No one wants to see starters pulled after 3, 4, or 5 innings. It looks like we may finally have the pitchers to do that. Time will tell.
  23. Just saw they released Jeff Hoffman. Kind of a surprise.
