    As long as the 2nd baseman has no clue he's cheating up the line. Otherwise assuming a good throw to 2nd he doesn't even try to tag Buxton and easily picks Rosario off third

    I like that baserunning by Rosario with a .200 hitter at the plate. Throw was way off line and if it rolls 4 inches he scores easily. If you wait to be sure the ball gets away you blow your chance. That was the Twins best chance to score in that half inning, and both were well below 50%

    That was my thought the prior inning. I just wanted to see if the same thing happened or not. Why dwell on it three times and then when a pitcher successful picks a guy off the next half inning ignore the topic.

    Why no extreme close up on Gibsons feet just to prove he didn't shuffle his front foot for what was considered a balk by Dick and Jack the prior inning.

    I heard Reusse explain low attendance on the idea that the fans know this team won't end up .500, To me the big difference is at catcher and despite the fact I'm aware of the improvement I can't see it with my own eyes other then seeing what Santana and the rest of the pitching staff is doing. I end up giving all the credit to Santana with the idea that he won't keep it up. The average fan doesn't even know about the defensive improvement at catcher, while many others know it's better but don't understand the impact it's making. I predicted 92 wins going into the season so am easily able to just stick with that, but when it's difficult to see what they are doing better it's hard to move much off of preseason expectations. It's baseball strange things happen, luck is always a factor and despite 162 games early season success plays a role as the season progresses. part of understanding why they are good this year is understanding why they were bad last year, they were among the last teams in baseball to adapt to modern strategy. It appears they leapfrogged several teams in the off season with the new management and getting everyone on board. Remember when we found out the new management wouldn't be able to fire Paul Molitor? That information was wrong the Paul Molitor who managed the team the last two years was fired. Luckily for us Paul Molitor adapted.

    The top 2 pitchers sound like potential busts. I don't care if a kid can pitch and hit at all. You can't focus on both it would be like moving Kohl Stewart to the outfield now and hoping in 2+ years he might hit .270 with 20 Homeruns in the big leagues. I haven't heard anything about the top position players but I'd prefer they go in that direction save some money and use the money on a pitcher that drop's

    I worked all day got home for the bottom of the 8th, it was the perfect length.

    I like that way of thinking although I like to start from the minimum point a playoff spot becomes reasonably possible which I would call 84 wins, meaning we're half a game above the minimum.

    I don't know how much of my spring training prediction was just the way I feel every March but I haven't been surprised by much. Santana's a lot better then expected and Buxton bat isn't where I expected it to be at this point. I don't know if the stats will ever really be able to tell the story of getting rid of a below average defensive/pitching game catcher and replacing him with two solid replacements but the Castro signing is why I was so confident this team would be a lot better. I also saw the Columbus Blue Jackets bounce back from a season that got away from them in the first couple weeks and bounce back to one of the best records in hockey this year. It's tough to say how many extra losses the 0-9 start added but I'm guessing a minimum of 15. This team is solid, I think we see our teams flaws while ignoring other teams flaws. One things for certain this team isn't gonna play like a 100 loss team the rest of the way so with dumb luck they should be able to go minimum 50 and 69 the rest of the way putting them at 75 wins. The wild Card cut off should be somewhere around 85 so they just have to do enough right to win 10 or 12 extra games. I'm not saying it should be easy or we should expect the playoffs but I will have to see this team fail to believe it at this point.

    I'm guessing there are prospects rated in our top 10 who Falvey and Levine don't value. I think you can probably get a significant asset for something we don't need. Now that it appears we have at least one top end of the rotation pitcher the needs are no longer that huge. I think people get overly focused on the long range model other teams have used, but really despite the fact the lineup might be better in 2 or 3 years given Santana's age this might be our best chance to take a shot.

    No you appear to be a Viking fan. The Twins have had some bad seasons, and every once in a while over the years have blown bigger leads, but they don't let you down in a regular season game with a big lead often.
