    At this point, I'm not sure why anyone cares what Terry Ryan has to say. What he says and what he does rarely, if ever, match up. This is the same guy who said the bullpen was #1 priority this offseason and all he managed to do was sign Abad to a minor league contract. TR needs to be gone yesterday. Can anyone honestly say they trust him dump some veterans and make good trades before the deadline? Or that you trust him to do anything of value in the offseason? Or to handle our prospects in a manner that doesn't jerk them around endlessly in favor of mediocre veterans? At this point, I'm afraid of the (additional) lasting damage he could do to this franchise if he continues to refuse to acknowledge his complete failure at running a team. And if he can't acknowledge how bad this team is and how far we are from competing, then I worry that he is going to do something even more idiotic like trading Berrios or Sano for a 30 year old SP because he thinks thats the piece we need to make our big playoff push in 2017.

    And they steal a base, just to add insult to injury. C'mon, you know we're not going to score 2 runs against Chapman, why you gotta rub it in our faces?

    And that would be the most idiotic trade TR has ever made. You honestly think trading Berrios and Polanco for a 2 or a 3 going into 2017 would be a good idea? If you read my post, I responded to your second point. Having one good month with a crappy team that doesn't make the playoffs isn't contending in my book. If you're happy with that, be my guest, but you're clearly in the minority.

    If TR thinks we're contending in 2017, then he's even more delusional than we thought. Any trade talks for a young #2 starter are going to start and end with Berrios or Sano. You can't just package a bunch of junk and 1 decent prospect and get back a young, established, 2 or 3 starter. And even if you could, it still wouldn't make us contenders in 2017. Also, since when is having one hot month and missing the playoffs "contending"? There wasn't a single team in the playoffs last season that wouldn't have annihilated us in the first round, had we even made it.

    Thought we were in a rain delay so I changed the channel for a bit. Change back and we're down 4-0 in the top of the 2nd. Twins baseball!
