  1. This is a very well done Kernels Promo. It would make me want to go to a game or two. That being said - I wondered what are some of the other affiliate promos out there? Post your teams promo link and lets see what affiliate does the best job of creating a buzz. What are your opinions on the following promos? Come Out and See the Kernels
  2. I agree with every point you made and could not say it better myself. With the proper instruction - This kid will be the steal of the draft. Take a chance and draft him. He might even take a tad bit less to go number #4 as well - opening possibilities to taking another chance on high end second round pick. This is a draft that is built on High Risk prospects. Take a chance Twins - I Trust Terry Ryan and his scouting department.
  3. Josh Burris last game experience involved a game tying HR in the bottom of the 9th and an extra inning Walk Off Grand Slam (Elizabethton 2012 Championship Game). In his first game of the 2013 season - Burris experiences a game with a crazy and similar ending. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130427&content_id=45998386&fext=.jsp&vkey=recap&sid=t492

  5. If Berrios meets the Kernels in Peoria - Who is getting released or placed on DL or Sent to Ft. Myers? Isn't roster at capacity?
  6. Maybe it will be Buxton or JD Williams - Both guys are as fast as anyone in the Twins organization and have a feel for stealing bases. Maybe it will be an individual noone expects like - Adam Brett Walker II who was 40 for 41 in stolen bases in college and 7 for 7 as a pro. He's not as fast but maybe luckier . Speed or Lucky? We might have to wait a couple of years for the boys to arrive . Oh Yeah Niko Goodrum has the knack and Dalton Hicks is 100% in stolen bases for his career.
  7. I agree Buxton is the guy. He won't be a player to watch because everybody will already be watching him. I hope people don't put to many expectations on the kid and allow him to grow into his 5 tool potential. He like all prospects, are a work in progress. One of my points was that while everyone is watching Buxton do his thing - watch the ABW stat line sneak up on ya. Same for my other choices in their respective levels.
  8. I am curious as to who - each of you see as breakout "Players to Watch" at each minor league level. Elizabethton - Besides new 2013 draft prospects - I see Joshua Burris as the player who should have moved up a level and as the player who will still impress. Cedar Rapids - Adam Brett Walker was Top 5 in Appalachain League in HRs (1st)- Runs Scored (4th) - RBIs (4th) - Total Bases (5th) - Triples (tied with 3rd). He is my stat line prospect for the MWL in 2013. If he controls his SO totals (2nd) - the upside could be off the charts. Fort Myers - DJ Baxendale is one of the best pitchers in the system. He like Matt Tomshaw, have the ability to throw strikes and still keep batters off balanced. I'm going with whichever guy has the most innings pitched at this level. New Brittan - Danny Santana has the flare and ability to become a solid SS in our system. This is the year he takes his game to a new level (Defensively & Offensively). Nate Roberts is my "2nd" choice if he ends up in NB. Rochester - Chris Herrmann becomes the catcher of the future with his performance this season. He will put together a complete season on both sides of the ball. He will slug closer to .500 this year and improve on his already impressive double totals and run scored totals (100+ this season).

  10. Who won the A/A+ game? Did anyone score and how? Did Sano impress again and were there any bombs (Sano / Vargas)? You left me assuming A+ won, becasue you said they were going to score some runs this season. I try not to ass u me (just kidding)
  11. I heard they started playing Minor League games yesterday vs the Sox. Why is there NO SCHEDULE POSTED???or updates?
  12. How do they function? Do they decide if they are playing randomly verse other teams? How do fans get to plan for seeing minor league games? Don't games start this week? How far will I have to travel if going to away games? etc. etc.? Why so late when other teams are having their games posted? ASTROS / BRAVES / NATIONALS / TIGERS http://www.crawfishboxes.com/2013/2/22/4017944/astros-minor-league-spring-training-2013-reporting-dates-and-schedule

  14. He has been mentioned both ways throughout his young career: Adam Brett Walker II - has never hit under .300 in (College / Jacksonville University nor Summer League / Licking County Settlers) when using 3 names. He actually hit over .400 one year when using the 3 names and was a Golden Spike Semi Finalist. Adam Walker - (however) has hit at or under .250 when using only 2 names (in the Cape / Harbor Hawks & Appy League / E'Town Twins). Although he still won 2 championships using 2 names, let's go back to Adam Brett Walker II and dominate again - Sounds better and names do matter..........................
  15. Does anybody know when the minor league spring training schedule is released? I was hoping to come down to Ft. Myers and see some of the lower prospects play. I can't plan my days if I don't know thier schedules? Best week with most home games, etc.?

  17. Oh yeah Seth - I don't see Buxton dropping to lower than 2 on anybodies board in 2014. Prospect list are built based on Tools and this kid blows away everyone in his path. His upside won't be tarnished in one season.
  18. I like Vargas and Walker to make the list over May and Harrison. May should be at the MLB level by 2014 and Vargas and Walker have been run producers at every level they've played. I'm into guys who fill up the stat sheet (RBIs / HRs / Runs Scored / SLG% / OPS / Etc.). We have prospects who can get on base, now we need guys who have a history of bringing people in. These two will always have high K stats, but I believe they can get them down enough to be major factors (aka Sano) as they move thru system. I like Harrison, but I think he ends up at first base with Vargas being as / more productive with his stat line. Vargas can serve as a productive DH if 1st base was occupied. Walker is more athletic (Harrison), which brings greater versatility moving forward. He was also a first team All American at 1st Base in college (5 errors in a season / not bad) during his sophomore season. Polanco and Kepler belong right where you have them. They both have star potential.
  19. Hey - he was only 20 in Appy and will be 21 for all of A ball. He was a young college kid. If he can keep up his production from league to league - He will be fine. As a 20 year old he was Top 5 in HRs / RBIs / Runs / TBs / SLG % (7th) / & Triples. He does need to drop K %, but I will take other category rankings every year. Between Sano; Vargas; DJ Hicks & Walker - The Twins are getting big and powerful quickly.
  20. Isn't the only time that a #1 is guarenteed to face another #1 during opening day? If I were the Twins: I would put one of my random #5's to face other teams #1's and put my 4's against their 2's and my 3's against thier 3's and my 2's against their 4's and my #1 against the opposing teams #5. At that rate, if all the cards fell right - The Twins would be close to .500. They have enough random arms to play the season that way. This way some of those pitchers coming off injury could rest from time to time and last longer through the season. Hand pick your starts based on match ups. Unconventional but sounds like a plan Figuritively conceed some games to assure better performances in other games. Outside the box. Crazy but yeeaahhhhh
  21. I'm just saying he was 3 for 3 - Those kids at ETown seemed to get along so well together - Maybe he / "They" can do it again. As you said they were very good last year.
  22. I like commenting on my ETown boys. This kid hit .300+ as a Freshmen in college and .400+ as a sophomore in college. He cut his K's down during his final year in college significantly. He led all NCAA college hitters in BA for Friday night games (usually the night you compete against other teams Ace pitcher) during his final season. My point is this kid seems to make corrections in his game every season at various levels. He always states in interviews what his preseason goals are, and he seems to make those stated adjustments throughout the season. Either way this kid is a winnerand I love how he works on his game. Baseball America | Blog | Baseball America Draft Blog | Stats For Top 200 College Hitters On Friday Nights This Walker kid has won a championship in each of his last 3 summer leagues - Great Lakes Summer Collegieate League (teams 1st ever) / Cape Cod League (teams 1st in 20+ years) / Appy League (key 9th inning HR). I agree about K's but the kid is a run producer at every level and that is the bottom line. Oh yeah - and his teams generally win
  23. He has some of the softest hands for a second baseman and smooth release. He might be able to play SS as well, but he was born to be a 2B to me. He did get most of his doubles down the line at ETown, so I am curious to see if he spreads those hits out more this year. Great Upside
  24. Excellent outfielders in Cedar Rapids. Crowed too. What is day one OF line up? I say - Kepler in LF - Buxton in CF - Walker in RF - Jimenez as DH Williams will be in High A - Your thoughts
  25. I get your point on Boyd. That being said - I wouldn't want him as a future closer if he K rate is low either. I believe in the kid and think he will eventually be a starter. He can eat up innings.
