  1. An .887 OPS in 57 games in Fort Myers to finish 2013, then injuries killed 2014, and an .867 OPS between AA and AAA last year. Maybe not dominated, but just a notch below. I hope Buxton doesn't spend two more months in AAA. If he keeps hitting, I say call him up within the next few weeks.
  2. Not to get into the whole Alex Meyer thing again, but it's hard not to be optimistic about how he looked in his start. The stuff looked to be back up to where it was before the shoulder issues. The results were solid when you include the pop fly HR and the small strike zone he was dealing with.
  3. Jake Reed ended his streak of giving up at least 1 ER in each of his last 4 appearances. Yikes.
  4. And his double play partner is hitting .186 with a .220 BABIP. This has got to turnaround for Jermaine Palacios at some point I hope. He's also just 19 years old, and hopefully he's using these struggles as a learning experience.
  5. I'm not sure why BA had them so much lower. Either way, both teams have pretty good minor league systems right now.
  6. Yeah I didn't agree with their ranking. I'll for sure take Buxton and Berrios over Orlando Arcia and Brett Phillips. I would assume the Twins' depth is at least on par with the Brewers too.
  7. For the record, BA rated the Brewers system 9th and the Twins 10th.
  8. Travis Harrison is going to have to put up better power numbers to have a chance to make it as a below average fielding corner outfielder.
  9. I'm not a huge fan of continuing with the transitioning of relievers into starters, especially with the 15th pick.
  10. I guess Molitor was just waiting for Brian Dozier to start to hit before putting him on the bench.
  11. He didn't seem like a very likeable guy from the interviews that I saw from him, including the B10 championship game ceremony. I still have no idea how he got MVP of that game by the way.
  12. USA Today listed 15 quarterbacks to watch for next year's draft, and Mitch Leidner was among them. It kinda seems like a "which of these is not like the others?" sort of list with him on it though. http://draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/05/05/2017-nfl-draft-watch-list-quarterbacks/
  13. Todd McShay just projected Mitch Leidner to go in the 1st round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Um...WTF????????????????????? http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2016/insider/story/_/id/15452051/cleveland-browns-headline-todd-mcshay-way-too-early-2017-mock-draft-nfl-draft
  14. To be fair, Nolasco probably deserves some more starts after his decent performance so far. He's a hanging curveball away from having a really good start to the season.
  15. The criticism is that Meyer wasn't really given a normal chance to show what he can do. He sat in the bullpen for a week, and then when he did get his "chance", he was prematurely pulled from his start.
  16. It looks like Jaun Centeno is having a decent year so far. Maybe a swap with Murphy could be possible? There are some 40-man issues there though.
  17. The Astros strike out a ton, and the Twins have a strikeout pitcher on the mound (possibly the first time I've ever typed that). I'm expecting a strong start from Berrios.
  18. It's probably not ideal when the opening day closer, set up man, and 7th inning guy have the three worst rates on the team.
  19. That's definitely true. The one player performance that drags my overall view down though is Buxton's bad start. That, along with the poor offensive minor league production, combined with the Twins awful start is leading to a somewhat negative view on things.
  20. Wow these offensive performances are rough. Byron Buxton with another 2 strikeouts. Max Kepler is hitting .185. Things are pretty bleak in all things Twins right now.
  21. It looks like the Twins tried to acquire Justin Wilson, and were surprised when the Yankees accepted the Tigers offer instead of their "aggressive" offer. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/04/al-pitcher-notes-wilson-skaggs-greene.html That would have been a nice get, although I definitely can't complain with the way Fernando Abad has been pitching.
  22. Also, I was hoping Jermaine Palacios would just come in and tear up Low-A as a 19 year old, but that hasn't happened yet, as he's hitting just .186. The good news is that he still isn't striking out much, as he's only got 10 strikeouts in 79 PA, to go along with 7 walks. Hopefully some of those hits start falling in and he gets going soon.
  23. Another really disappointing start to a season by Jake Reed. He's been great everywhere he's pitched, besides in AA.
  24. I didn't know Mike Aviles still played SS. Or that he was still in the majors.
