  1. Carson Fulmer had a 4.76 ERA at AA with 5.3 BB/9. That's pretty awful from a guy who was a great starter in college. Everybody thought he would have to move to the bullpen. Him making the majors should have nothing to do with how you look at Jay. And Tyler Jay's 2.84 ERA with 8.8 K/9 as a starter in A+ is pretty good.
  2. With Byron Buxton's 3 strikeouts yesterday, he's now K'd 9 times in 23 AB's since his demotion. That's not exactly what I was hoping for.
  3. Well Courtney Hawkins is hitting .211 with a .620 OPS in his second year at AA. He deserves to have something go right for him.
  4. I would guess it's more of an innings limit, as he only threw 61.2 innings last year, and he's already up to 90.2 this year. He has some pretty low K numbers this year as a starter too, 6.1 K/9, so he might be better off in the bullpen.
  5. And the comparison of A-Roid chasing 700 to Jim Thome chasing 600 is not even close. I don't think any Twins fan would enjoy watching that.
  6. Why do you hope he gets to 700? It's already an artificially inflated number anyway.
  7. Turner's never going to hit, so he has to be near elite defensively in order to make an MLB team, and I'm sure he needs to still make improvements in his catching game too.
  8. So Felix Jorge is down to a 3.86 K/9 in 37.1 innings at AA. I'm concerned, but hoping that more experience at the upper levels will lead to increased strikeouts. Overall, this has still been an encouraging season for him, and I would guess that he still projects as a potential back-end pitch-to-contact starter.
  9. Rough day for the offense throughout the system. Daniel Palka is going through a rough stretch of his own. In his last 10 games, he's hitting .135 with just 1 HR, bringing his AAA BA down to .248.
  10. That would be fine, but I can't see Trevor Plouffe spending a whole lot of time on the bench with the way Molitor splits playing time, so I don't see where Polanco fits into the lineup on a regular basis. Maybe he'll be used as a clutch-pinch-sac-bunter.
  11. If it keeps Danny Santana on the bench, then I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot in the outfield.
  12. I was really optimistic about the offense coming into the season, and it's great to finally see them producing.
  13. That's the first time I've heard Fernando Romero as a possible #1 in the system. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  14. I'd put Vielma making the opening day roster at about 1%. Polanco and Esocbar are going to be the starting SS/utility guy, and the rest of the roster would be filled by guys better and more experienced than Vielma. I guess that would change if Dozier or another infielder is traded, but I doubt that happens.
  15. Great day yesterday for Twins fans. Max Kepler is having an amazing season. He's got an .879 OPS and 133 OPS+ on the season now.
  16. Also, Alan Busenitz throws upper 90's, so he's not just a throw in.
  17. I like the trade. I still have hope for Alex Meyer though. Bye Ricky!
  18. Looks like Lucroy to the Rangers is going to happen. Gallo is a nice return if it goes through.
  19. Scott Feldman has started only 5 of the 26 games he has appeared in this year.
  20. Yeah, it's annoying that they're doing the smart thing.
  21. MLBpipeline says they may be their #1. Not much in terms of frontline pitching though, or top of the line (top 10 overall range) prospects, but great depth.
