  1. Yeah, 15 HRs back in 2013, and just 16 in the three years since then. He's been disappointing as a supplemental first rounder, but I guess that's the risk with taking high schoolers. He never has come into the power that scouts thought he would.
  2. Every time the camera goes to Molitor, I can't help but get really annoyed. It's like he's just trying to troll whatever fans remain left watching.
  3. What a joke. Not that I should be surprised with Molitor's track record.
  4. So Logan Schafer is batting 5th tonight. It's pretty impressive how each day brings something new to represent just how awful this season has been.
  5. I really want Kyle Gibson to just go away because he is infuriating to watch pitch, but I'd be shocked if he's not in the rotation next year. And unfortunately Berrios has played himself into not being a lock next year, especially if/when a free agent or a trade brings in another pitcher.
  6. The King of Queens is probably my favorite show of all time. I still watch reruns pretty often. And I thought the first episode of Kevin Can Wait was pretty good. The Good Place was really funny too. I think I'll continue watching that one for a while.
  7. Yeah, he should definitely start at AA next year. Gordon actually went from 25 SBs in Cedar Rapids to just 19 this year, and the success rate went from 76% to 59%. Not good at all. I don't think steals are going to be a big part of his game.
  8. The O's are making a nice push. That's the team I'm rooting for this postseason.
  9. I think most records go by where the player played the majority of his games for that season, but I see what you mean. The record for for HRs by a 2B is 43. And as you pointed out, the record for HRs as a 2B is 42.
  10. Davey Johnson actually hit 43 HRs in 1973. Interestingly, his second highest mark in a season is just 18 in 1971. Does anyone have any more information on this huge power spike? It was in his first season in the NL, with Atlanta, so I guess that played a role.
  11. Did you tell Jose that occasionally throwing the ball over the plate could be helpful?
  12. Granite and Buxton 1/2 or 9/1 in an order would be pretty fun to watch. I would assume there would be a "no fly zone" in the outfield too with the speed they have.
  13. You really snubbed Nick Burdi. A 9.00 ERA in 3 innings isn't good enough to make this list?
  14. Hildenberger's control has been really impressive to me (from his stats). We've seen with Chargois and Light how not throwing it over the plate can really cause problems.
  15. I guess I'd hope for internal improvement from Berrios and Gibson. Maybe sign a #4/5 guy in free agency, and/or make a more minor trade. What are we expecting for a return for Dozier? An MLB guy (Chris Archer, Steven Matz) or a top minor leaguer (one of Glasnow/Taillon, Jose de Leon, Giolito)? Just throwing a few names out for fun.
  16. The 14th best team ERA, Oakland, is .59 worse than 3rd best Houston's 4.01 ERA. The Twins are .60 worse than Oakland... I could've probably just said the Twins pitching is hot garbage and made the same point without wasting 2 minutes looking that up.
  17. And there's basically no way I'd trade Brian Dozier this offseason. I can't envision the return I would want matching what teams would be willing to give up.
  18. After yesterday's 3 HR game, the national media is starting to recognize Brian Dozier's great season. I remember several times seeing "Brian Dozier's hot 2nd half continues, with 3 HR game" (or something like that) scroll across in "The Lead" while watching the FSU/Ole Miss game.
  19. Yeah, I haven't been a real big believer in Vargas' bat being good enough to be an everyday DH, but the improved discipline and power that he showed in his short stint this year was encouraging at least.
  20. Kennys Vargas: .152 over his last 10 games, 0 RBI. He's now hitting .229, with a .776 OPS for Rochester. Not too good.
  21. Classic Kohl Stewart: 6 innings, 1 K. He's down to 4.6 K/9 (and 4.3 BB/9) in Chattanooga. But he still gets people out. I'm really confused by him. I think he should start going by Cole Stewart.
  22. I'm really interested in seeing where Gonsalves slots in on top 100 lists this offseason. His numbers indicate he should be a top 50 guy, but the people who make those lists don't seem to agree so far. I'd also switch Romero and Anderson for #2 because of the strikeouts.
  23. I'll be really surprised if they don't win 7 games. I think 8 is really likely.
  24. With the Leiner draft stock being a topic, I have to include another player who the NFL seemed to like, but their own college fans thought was terrible: Christian Hackenberg. Here is his line from last night's preseason game for the Jets: 11-31, 54 yards, 1 interception. 31 attempts, 54 yards...
