    I always like looking at comps for prospects. How does Michael Brantley (healthy version) sound as a nice ceiling comp for Max Kepler?

    I meant Vielma would hit in the low .600s, and that might be stretching it for him. I'd have no problem with Andrelton Simmons being in any lineup.

    There's no way you should have a guy in your lineup with a low .600s ops, even if he is near Simmons-level defensively (which I doubt Vielma is given how incredible Simmons is.)

    If he's going to play once or twice every two weeks like Nunez will, then Polanco needs to be in Triple-A until a regular spot opens up.

    I'd rather have Polanco down in Triple-A getting better instead of sitting on the bench for the Twins. He'll be up as soon as regular playing time opens up.

    Then you have guys like Roberto Osuna closing out games for a playoff team at 20 years old. A second round pure relief pitcher coming out of college should be ready to contribute not long after they're drafted, and hopefully that's the case with Nick Burdi spending a lot of time up with the Twins this year.

    I know this article is mostly about the dh spot, but Santana as the opening day starter? I would guess Kyle Gibson as of now.

    You're making it sound like Park has never played baseball before.

    The power potential is one of the things I'm most looking forward to this season, and I'm really intrigued by seeing how Park's power translates, 30 from him would be great.

    Very interesting that klaw has Quezada in his top 20, but Chargois was not mentioned.

    Just for the record, John Danks hasn't had a 4.25 ERA since 2010. He's been above 4.70 the last three years and is on the short list for worst regular starters in the MLB, so I really hope he pitches 200 innings this year!

    Arcia's got a career 104 ops+, and he's going to start the season at 24 years old. He's a lock to start the season with the Twins. You don't give up on young power hitters who have great minor league track records just because of one nagging injury season. I'm expecting and hoping for a big year from Ozzie.

    Rosario's fielding and upside still give him the edge for me over Melky. Laroche is going to have to have a huge bounceback just to be playable. I'll take my chances with Arcia/Park.

    I highly doubt any of the three outfielders you listed would make the team even if Buxton starts in triple-a. That's just a waste of a spot when you've got Arcia as the 4th outfielder instead.

    A consensus top 25ish prospect who has dominated the upper minors with great stuff and great control despite being quite young for the leagues only gets a 2/3 ceiling from you? That's a reasonable conservative projection, but I think his reasonable ceiling projection is an ace.

    The Twins 4/5 of Duffy and Milone/Berrios help close the gap some between the two rotations, especially if the Sox plan on their 4/5 being Latos and Erik Johnson. And hopefully the Twins can keep on crushing Chris Sale.

    I'll take Rosario's speed and arm over Melky Cabrera, as they were about even offensively last year. And if the Twins primary DH can't muster a 78 ops+ this year, then something's gone horribly wrong.

    I think Arcia has just as much upside as Park, and they both deserve a chance at playing time. If Arcia shows that he can be the hitter that he was in the minors during spring training, then it would be Arcia's progression would be the one being affected with limited playing time.

    I don't think Vielma's defense is going to be enough to make up for his lack of offense. He posted a .627 OPS last year. Pedro Florimon's career OPS in High-A is .771, and for his career in the minors, it is .679. Now, Vielma could improve (which he did in the 2nd half somewhat), but he doesn't walk, and he doesn't hit for any power, and I don't want to go back to the days of watching Pedro Florimon "hit", no matter how good his defense is.

    I hope Melotakis spends a lot of time on the big league club this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing some hard throwing left handers in the bullpen soon, and the next guy I hope to make a jump is Cam Booser, hopefully he can pitch with a lot better control this year and he could be really good too.

    If Duffey pitches well in spring training, I would be totally shocked if Nolasco was in the rotation and he wasn't. The only person Nolasco has a shot at replacing would be Tommy Milone in this scenario.

    That was a really entertaining article, especially the Mauer conversation. I doubt the Mets would give up Duda for Plouffe, and I would also be greatly pained to have to give up Gonsalves and Arcia for Smith, but that would be one heck of a bullpen though.

    Looking at Detroit's roster, they look really talented, but I thought the same thing last year. And since last year, their big acquisitions are basically replacing David Price and Yoenis Cespedes with Jordan Zimmerman and Justin Upton, which is roughly even when you include the bullpen upgrades. It should be an interesting year in the Central.

    It's disappointing the way things played out with Mauer in regards to injuries, but I think the three batting titles as a catcher, the MVP, and the possibility of getting 2500 hits will be enough to get him in.
