  1. Just the bad grades he alluded to in the previous question, or more?
  2. Dozier is gonna get a taste of real playoff baseball in the second city, home of stars. I don't believe he will be coming back, especially if he goes on one of his late season runs in one of the media capitals of the world.
  3. Dozier having a revival in LA. 3 run homer tonight. I think this revival was totally predictable. Playing on a new team, contender and all. Plus, he is surrounded by better payers in the lineup. He will probably go on the late season tear now. BD gets a chance to hit that jackpot if he keeps it up. Never was happening here.
  4. Up to Hildenberger or Curtiss or somebody to step up and wrestle it from his hands.
  5. Here's the one you've been waiting for, the Star Tribune users poll on how the Twins did. As expected of Ivy Leaguers, the grading is harsh. http://www.startribune.com/poll-grade-the-trades-made-by-the-twins-in-the-last-week/489668921/?showPollResults=true
  6. I'll take a shot at year end subtractions: Belisle Wilson Forsythe Morisson Granite Grossman *Astudillo *Slegers *if necessary
  7. On the Athletic, Jim Bowden gave the Twins an A- for their deadline: Full story here: https://theathletic.com/453436/2018/08/01/bowden-grading-all-30-mlb-teams-on-their-trade-deadline-moves/
  8. Although you wouldn't expect anything else, the vets that were traded all had kind things to say about the organization. They seemed to have fun on the field. Rumors like this are likely just damage control: make the fans feel good because we got rid of some "locker room poison." Spycake's take also has merit : Unhappy to be sucking could apply to any number of Twins this season.
  9. The only one I can remember is Midre Cummings and Denny Neagle for John Smiley, 1992. It is rare with this team.
  10. Belisle's ERA is at 6.99. Can we get rid of him when it goes over 7?
  11. You and me on the same page where Wade is concerned. He'd be at worst a better Grossman given his plate control.
  12. Really, what have we lost? Escobar to be sure. Pressly? Opportunity knocks for someone else. Dozier, Lynn, Duke, they can be replaced. Combined 1 WAR between the three of them.
  13. Well, a 41 year old that can still hit 98 on the gun, and is second in active saves, and has an Experience named after him, all for 4.5 million, I'd keep him too. He is tied for the league lead in blown saves at 6, but St. Ryan Pressly, Familia and Duke have 4, Brad Hand has 5, so for a team fighting for a .500 record, Rodney is fine.
  14. If Jose DeLeon was the offer for 40 HR Brian Dozier with another year of team control, this looks like a king's ransom.
  15. Those D2 guys can sneak thru the cracks - anytime you see even a small sample size of BA over .600 and OPS over 1.500, yeah, that's destroying it.
  16. Raley has OPS'ed over .800 the last 2 years despite being about half a year younger than league average. I foresee Twins OF 1B DH spots getting crowded in the near future. If that means a slugger at DH, I am all for it. We haven't had a good one in the longest while.
  17. Liked Dozier, but just looking at the HR numbers you can see the peak is in the rear view mirror at 31. 6, 18, 23, 28, 42, 34, 16+ He never really became that complete hitter - he had a great hit up the middle last night, but those efforts were just too few and far between.
  18. Odd parallel: Logan Forsythe hit 20 homers his last season in Tampa. Logan Morrison hit 38 homers his last season in Tampa. Since leaving TB both Logans have struggled at the plate. Lesson learned: don't pick up guys from TB named Logan.
  19. Falvine doesn't mess around - very glad to see the cycle going around. Dozier certainly has the hair to be a Dodger.
  20. I'd be happy just to see a climb up to .500+ 82-80, and this season will be a success all things considered.
  21. Boston going for Kinsler just leads me to further believe that Dozier ain't going nowhere. Every contender with a need at 2B has gone a different direction.
  22. Dozier's value is sinking to the point that if the Twins do keep him and qualify him, and he opts for free agency, he may find teams reluctant to give up the pick they'd surrender for signing him.
  23. Makes up for the draft pick they lost by signing Lynn.
  24. His minors career BB/9 is 1.0, so yeah.
